so im about to finish my gaming build and my friend is letting me borrow his gtx 520. I know this cant really play games though. i want to get a gtx 670/770-780 sli setup but that's not until i get a job over the summer. but right now i can afford a radeon hd 6850 or a nvidia 550ti. which one will be better for playing games.
current games i play
league of legends
dungeons and dragons neverwinter
killing floor
gmod
left for dead 2

i just want to get a steady 35-40 fps through out the game including action scenes.

so which one is better for games?
this will be a temporary card.
they both go for around $50-$60 on ebay

Pick up the 6850, you will see better performance out of it.

+1 for the 6850. I have one and have no complaints. Overclocks well too IMHO.

what is your budget. here is a good deal on a HD 7850. for USD 153 you can pick a Sapphire HD 7850 1 GB with 3 free games. 12% off w/ promo code TECHBARG515, ends 5/20 . you can sell the games to cut your costs further.

6850 All the way. I ran with 1 of those for a year or so with everything and anything. Mind you it doesn't play crysis 3 on max at 1080p but still it's a great card. You shouldn't have any issues with the games you're playing and getting those frames on maxed graphics. Good luck

A 6850 will knock a 550Ti's socks off. It's a much better choice.
