I5 3570k or 17 2600k

Thread Starter
I am trying to decide if I want to just keep the 2600k that I already have and use it in my new build with a z77 board or leave the 2600k in my current system that I will be using for a media center, and getting a 3570k to put in my new build so Icahn take advantage of USB 3.0 and the other benefits of ivy bridge. So should I use my current 2600k in my new build or get a 3570k.

i'd keep the 2600k in your current build as that is a beast rig still and feels like overkill for if you use it for just a media center unless you still want to game on it.

as to a new build i would wait a couple of weeks for haswell.

Based on what you said already, it sounds to me like you'd be happier getting the 3570K.

Keep the 2600k and wait for haswell if you're itching for an upgrade.

Don't get ivy. Not worth. You get like maybe 5% more performance clock for clock, but sandy has way more OC headroom than Ivy.

The increases are very unimpressive for the extra heat it generates.
