Hi just thought i would post my results in testing the Noctua NF-F12 vs Gentle Typhoon 1850RPM here are my results testing using prime95 blend test for 15mins idle temps were taking after leaving PC idle for 10mins
Case Corsair 650D
Front Intake 200mm Spector Pro@12v
Side Intake 200mm Spector Pro@12v
Rear Exhaust Noctua NF-F12@12v
H100 exhaust hot air from case
room temp around 20c

NF-F12 running @12v in push config on H100 Intel 2600k 4.6Ghz 1.36VCore HT off
Idle Temps Load Temps
CPU 1 30c 64c
CPU 2 30c 71c
CPU 3 32c 73c
CPU 4 33c 71c

The overall inconvenient of the F12's is that they're quite weak in pull configuration.

The GT fan you tested is a little higher on the RPM side, so i would assume it would be a little colder than the Noctua's. While the Noctua's i assume might be a tad quieter than the GT on load.

That seems about what I would expect, considering the GT's speed.

So the Noctua was tested at a steady top-speed, not running on PWM? I've never seen my NF-F12 run at full speed. It idles at about 500rpm and tops off around 1200rpm at load. I'll always have a respect for my GTs (that spin time after being turned off still impresses me), but they really don't match the overall refinement of the F12.
