Microsoft made a fantastic HTPC demonstration, terrible video game demonstration. Who cares about E3? Sony had working prototypes and developers on stage with the announcement, Microsoft had what amounts to no substance in the game department.

They have truly lost their way, a few "policy changes" won't fix them. Their whole direction needs to change (which won't happen till it hits an iceberg.)

That conference wasn't to show gaming aspects of the console tho, but I will agree that whole conference gave them bad face, and shouldn't have even been held, they have got nothing but negative press since they held it lol

Microsoft needs to start frequenting these forums and hiring some of the posters. They clearly know how to sell an item better than Microsoft smile.gif

I'm not judging anything until both systems are released. A lot can change and I have no need to be the first person in the world to own one or the other. Just wait and see how the releases look before judging something you have no control over.

Side note: One of the top donators to Facebook is the CIA. You all are scared about Microsoft watching you play games naked while the CIA already knows everything about you. Who cares if they are watching you at all times. What are you doing that you are scared about them seeing? You could always unplug the device when not in use. I have nothing to be ashamed of so I will continue to roam the house naked as that is my right.

AWESOME!!!

On a side note, that's why I don't have a smartphone or why I'm NOT on facebook, not that it makes a ton of difference, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

I have a legit concern

We all know that the games will now be tied to your account, and I'm sure that you are not allowed to be logged in into two machines at the same time.
if I have two consoles or morr and only have 1 account, what if I want to play COD on one console and my son wants to play BF3 ON another? I would not able to do that now?

Yeah I know some of you will suggest to create another account, but then that would require me to buy a second copy of the games I already have.

I agree with that. They need to fix that, especially if I'm paying for the live family plan. I also don't want to have to use a memory card to carry my profile between two machines as well. I hate having to download my profile each time or use a memory card. I should be able to tie multiple machines to an account.

who the hell is corporateboy?

Also we should have a mod clean this thread and delete posts like this.

Innovation is what MS is trying to achieve, thinking that MS is watching you only goes to show that you don't know law and believe in stupid things. Stop trying to keep the world in the dark ages.

MS can change their policies before the release of the console if they wanted, but having that kinect camera will bring more good then anything for the gaming world. Don't like it put tape over it or simply don't buy it. PC gaming is better anyways.

Good for you not using FB or Google, sadly most of the modern world does.

I'll give my opinion about the kinect.

There is a reason why the kinect is mandatory even if you are not using it, and I dont think it's about the voice commands so that you can turn on your xbox, you can power on your xbox without voice commands, your xbox can run fine without the kinnect, but microsoft wants to force it on us, why?

It's about "CONDITIONING", so we get used to ideo of kinnect always on, so that they can use this in the future for their DRM implementations, like PAY PER VIEWER, EXTRA VIEWER EXTRA PAY, EXTRA PLAYER EXTRA PAY, etc.

It will only happen if it is widely accepted. I don't see Microsoft doing this unless they know people will pay for it. Otherwise they will lose customers to other consoles which probably isn't something they have planned in their marketing strategy. The system isn't released, people need to stop speculating as everything they have released has been vague. You will get what you want and if you aren't happy with the XBOX then get a PS3. Better yet, start calling and complaing to Microsoft as complaining on the forum really isn't going to change anything.

What I do know is that I do not trust a company like Microsoft enough to not do it. Therefore I will not be buying it. I forever remain sceptical until the technology (and hackers, because they're always the ones that expose the real deal biggrin.gif ) proven otherwise. thumb.gif

That comes from someone who has supported the Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles from day one. That's how strongly I feel about it all. wink.gif

same, cancelled my renewal and was a xbox fan from day 1.

2 reasons.

1. Privacy, its principle over practice for me. its my choice not to buy into the technology. US-MS can just as easily work with governments and if you blindly trust your government your doing it wrong. My phone has tracking (as much as i can) turned off, i only used it when i need these days otherwise its off. I don't have facebook (social virus) and guess what? i still have lots of real friends and go out socializing with them too as well as online. I DO NOT want or need a camera on monitoring my 'personal room status' whilst I game. You can call it progress, yes but progress can be bad. Hitler thought that killing 3 million Jews was progress for example and all this tech serves is the company not the user its 100% DRM way beyond the game you play.

Don't hate though after all you can buy COD and FIFA and i will miss out and feel lonely playing custom maps on ARMA III using an occulus Rift with my PC buddies.

2. I have a friend who doesn't have a lot of cash and is physically disabled, but loves game probably a LOT more than your average Rig builder / Modder. The person in question can rarely afford new games but even though he is low on income he doesn't pirate a game as he believes that is a bad thing. So he is in a demographic where by most people would pirate music/movies/games to save money. And its exactly that type of person this system penalizes. No more can he buy used games or trade, for him gaming is going to die out sooner than expected and its one of the few pleasures he has

So Meh, its another box of electronics, with more whistles and apps. Big deal, what it gives with one hand it takes away with the other.
