None of that was stated or even brought up during the revealing, we will have to wait for E3

I did that with an Acer laptop. I could play CoD as well on it thumb.gif

And i played need For speed on a 775 era celeron single core on The tv during last summer. Everything is wired, but it worked. thumb.gif

At this point I have no idea which one I would rather have, the Xbox One or PS4. I don't care much for live TV but the media offerings look real compelling especially since I have Windows 8 and a Windows Phone, the controls might be great for a media experience. Now if the PS4 can stuck up well as a media box minus the live tv and it isn't behind an extra paywall like Xbox Live, then it'll be my purchase. I'm sort of assuming now that the PS3 will have more non-shooter focused games which is a plus, but I'll game mainly on PC. I can't wait until E3 to see how they stack up head to head. No day one purchase because of hardware faults, but definitely a future purchase.

Controller looks great, the system itself is meh. Looks like a cable box. Not impressed with the whole presentation.

AMD confirms that the XBOX One uses a single-chip, semi-custom AMD APU co-developed with Microsoft.

Funny thing is that single 5 billion transistor chip is the biggest AMD has ever made. And it's not even on 28nm but 40nm.... kookoo.gif

I don't really get it. Are they saying they made something much bigger than fermi?

They didn't actually say that the APUs have 5 billion transistors, they could be talking about more than one chip and are just adding up transistors for marketing.

From what I remember from the previous XBOX, once you create a gamer tag, you automatically have a Silver account. It's free. I don't think it required a gold account to download games. But Gold was required for online play and netflix streaming etc. But this culd have changed for this generation...nothing was mentioned.

Microsoft's event was underwhelming compared to Sony's February event, but it was expected since they have been on this trend for some time. Despite it being underwhelming, there are a lot of events coming up such as E3, Gamescom, PAX Prime, and the Tokyo Game Show. Microsoft did the same as Sony, which is showing off the console's capabilities and features. Sony's event was longer and they actually showed games. The new Call of Duty looks good visually, but that's about it. I laughed a little when I saw the actual new Xbox since it looks quite large and blocky. Reminds me of an old school VCR player. Overall, I am looking forward to E3 in the coming weeks to see what the two have to offer now that they got some of the features reveal out of the way.
