Well considering that MS has nearly matched Wii sales in NA with 360 sales no wonder they are focusing on that market. Having the home advantage and the success of the 360 I bet the xbox one will be the leader in NA. While Sony and MS will be left to fight over EU, Asia is Nintendo handheld land now.

so far it's all about pleasing the NA audience

One of things that does get on my nerves with event like these, is the constant clapping and cheering from the audience when something really lame is performed on stage. I mean seriously, these people are easily impressed. Everytime someone did something on stage like saying "xbox on"......i was like oh please.....so 90's, but yet the audience is having a seizure about it.

Good luck to MS but looks like Sony is finally up after the rough patch with the PS3, people forget just how badly Sony dominated during the PS2 era. If Sony is leading though that's a good thing since they'll have the best hardware and graphics should really pick up so yay for us PC folks though!

My God, that gen wasn't even close. What's a GameCube again?

Microsoft's reveal conference was.....

tl;dr, not for a gamer, at least of our ages, 21+ or if you're not interested in Call of Duty.

.....disappointing, to say the least.

So they start the conference showing off a black NES.........oh wait that's the new console.........Here's hoping the PS4 looks more "next-gen" and interesting to look at.

Then they move onto Kin............waaaaaiiiit a minute! Where have I seen this before? OH RIGHT! Microsoft's last THREE E3 conferences. Remember those?

2010: Modern Warfare 3, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Forza, Gears of War 3, Fable, Kinect, Kinect, Dance Central, Kinect, Xbox 360 Slim announced.
2011: Black Ops, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Forza 4, Gears of War 3, Kinect, Kinect, Dance Central 2, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Halo 4 and new Halo trilogy announced.
2012: Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Splinter Cell, some random exclusives I haven't heard about since, Halo 4, Gears of War: Judgment, Forza Horizon, Kinect, Kinect, Kinect, Black Ops 2.

And what did they do this conference? Kinect, Kinect, you can do this with live TV (meaning it has a coaxial port on the back....Where dat TiVo, doe?!), look at how quickly Kinect responds to me, we've improved Kinect, look at this shiny black NES that we stole from Nintendo and re-created, now let's bring EA (OF ALL COMPANIES!!!!!) to talk to us about some multiplats that some of us stopped playing (haven't touched Madden since 2001), Forza 5 trailer, Halo TV series, and CoD: Ghost on a new engine............and by new, we mean it looks prettier (I guess the same could be said about Frostbite 3? tongue.gif ). Seriously the gameplay they showed looked like it had the same hit-detection problems Black Ops 2 has right now.

Of course E3 is what, 20 days away? So they have more chances to show games there, and I can see why Microsoft decided to wait 'til E3 to show something off. But at least give us SOMETHING! You guys spent an hour talking about a gaming console. 3/4 of that time was spent talking about how a gaming console can control live T.V. and what I can do with Kinect, something that I don't want in the first place. When I first saw an actual GAME that was relevant to the Xbox One (i.e. an exclusive) I looked at my laptop to check the time and literally the console was about 3/4 of the way done.

Personally, I wished they spent more time talking about games, cuz you know.....I'm a GAMER, than talking about movies, apps, music, and T.V. I have DirecTV that allows me to enjoy music, movies, and television, AND I can record. I have a laptop, a phone, and (if I'm not too lazy) an iPod that I can get working again to store my music. That's literally almost a TB across those three devices, 2 of which are very portable. I DON'T WANT KINECT! WHY ARE YOU FORCING ME (as of now, of course things can change) TO USE SOMETHING I DON'T WANT?! ................well technically you're not because I don't have to buy your Big Brother console tongue.gif

OK /rant.

Exactly. I can see why most American customers prefering Xbox One over PS4 next generation. I can not really blame Microsoft.

So Microsoft has turned the Xbox into what is essentially a HTPC? Consoles are supposed to be convenient and dummy proof. All this you need an account for this or a pass for that or even CD keys and internet are the type of crap that is a huge turnoff for folks and a reason why they avoid PC gaming to start with.

It's bad enough to deal with on PC but PC's are a whole other animal. Consoles though? All I can say is this is bad news for them and their target markets.

If development costs are so high that they feel they need to do these types of things to consumers, I believe we need a new approach. Like not developing games that are beyond our means for starters.

Hopefully Sony chooses not to employ these practices also but they very well may.

It's possible maybe Nintendo wasn't so short sighted with Wii and Wii U after all.
