I'm voting with my wallet just like I have against EA and other companies that I don't agree with. I have been a fan of Xbox since the beginning and Halo is my favorite game of all time, but I'm saying bye to Xbox. They don't seem to have listen to customer once again just like Windows 8.

Cons
*require internet at least once every 24hrs
*fee for 2nd activation of games
*weaker than PS4 (not fully confirmed but most likely)
*TV crap (why would people want this? Cutting the cord is more popular every day. TVs already provide same function ready)
*looks like a VCR
*has to have Kinect connected
*paying for Live
*connect to their servers so that a game cause have better graphics? ***?

What's positive about Xbox One? COD DLC early? Halo, which sucks after Halo 3? Pretty much nothing!

They didn't show anything new that hasn't been done. Xbox overlay will fail just like GoogleTV.

Always online? Fee for used games? Has to have Kinect? Yeah it looks like the PS4 will win this one.

I am so dissapointed. frown.gif

These cons are huge.

1) All of my data is given to Microsoft and I just have to trust them with it. God forbid I don't have internet, then I'm left with a Bluray player? worriedsmiley.gif

2) People pay a lot of money for games. They own it and they should be able to share it with others without a dumb fee. Either make Live free or get rid of this Used Game fee crap. madsmiley.png

3) I don't want their stupid Kinect. I don't like the idea of a camera in my room that is always on. I never use it and it is just an added necessary risk. hmmsmiley02.gif

What is the deal with only 1 USB on the side? What idiot designed this thing?!
A 10 year old could have designed the Xbox One layout. I don't mind it looking like a box, but at least put some stuff up front.
There is a huge surface area up front and it serves no function.
The friggen 360 had 2 up front at least!

Yeah I think this is the last generation I'm going to buy consoles. I might sell my Wii, and put that money towards a new GPU. I think I'll keep my 360 around.

Well, I guess I'll be the one to go against the grain.....again.

Count me as one of the sports "nuts" excited for the Xbox One. The ESPN / NFL functionality looks absolutely awesome. I like the idea of HDMI in and how they've integrated Windows Media Center into the xbox experience. As a fan of HTPC's, the roku and the like; this appears to be the ultimate solution combined into......ONE wink.gif

Sounds pretty good to me.

In fact, depending on which service providers they partner with, I'll take two please.

BREAKING NEWS:

New Halo/Gears of War/Forza/Other exclusives release on XBO. "Everybody is buying an XBO" say retailers.

At the end of the day, if the console has games people want to play, they will buy the console. End of story. Making the whole judging the entire success of the platform based on hardly any actual games info a lesson in pointlessness.

And there are a whole load of people who want to play Halo/Gears/Forza and maybe even some new exclusives.

Then there are all the non predominantly gamer types who may be happy to have more use of their xbox when they or their kid isn't playing with Kinect or something.

There are so many times where internet opinion does not match real life and this could easily be one of those times.

I know you're playing devils advocate (as always) and you keep posting this or different iterations on the same theme, but:

I know many people (at least 10) who are 95% console only gamers and they are ALL upset/outraged/pi$$ed about various aspects of the new XBOX. While some people will still buy it, you can only push many consumers so far. For many of us it has gone far enough and we will vote with our wallets. Neither me nor my friends are buying a 400$ console to play 3 exclusives....

Based on general responses, I am not alone in this viewpoint. Not by a long shot

Sadly PS4 is doing the same thing. In an age where game libraries are 10x more important than the consoles themselves I don't know why both companies are raising the middle finger to such a crucial aspect of gaming. It is also easily the strongest advantage of PC - being able to play age-old games no matter how many hardware upgrades you make.

Well in theory the move for PS4/One to being a straight pc may mean future consoles will be backwards compatible. They're actually moving to your prefered advantage. PS3 and even the 360 are very custom. they'd need to include the old hardware in the new systems which would bump up the cost.

They'll do 1080p remakes as well for you to buy

That is if the generation after keeps being x86, the Xbox 360 proves that it might not be so, as the original Xbox was x86.

Which brings an intersting question - will Microsoft make it possible to play the original Xbox games on the Xbox One ? It shouldn't be too much trouble to get those games working.

Part of me doesn't care simply because I am already used to this DRM with PC gaming. However, I do like to pick up an odd used game here and there for the 360 so I hope how this goes down is exactly how it works on PC, the games are cheaper and sales are run much more often. If games still stay at $60 new and don't have sales or price drops quickly, this is going to tank.
