[Various] Xbox One Reveal - Page 88

If what is said in this article/interview is in fact true then I will not be buying one. If it is also true for the PS4, I will not be buying one. PC FTW. I love my PS3, but this console industry bs is getting ridiculous.

i can see future generation consoles being ring of death = re-buy your entire game collection as they are console bound much like software licenses bound to hardware

dosnt metter how to re-name it
the fact remain that the PC gamers sit quit and accept there DRM fate

welcome to the 10% of the global console population
but u forgeting the big + consoles will still have over PC's : no need for hardware update to get the max settings on gaming (and sins the new hardware is PC like the graphics probbly gonna be good)

That's one robust power delivery system for a console.

And this chip looks quite big.

So it's no longer enough for us to buy the games once. You got to buy the game each time for every Xbox Account you want to play it on.

So you have to have the lender over and use his account, but then wait...
This means the friend can't track any progress or save any data for the game, because it will be saved on the "cloud" for the lender's account.
Way to absolutely kill an entire huge segment of gaming.

Microsoft better fix this quick unless they want to be stomped into the ground by the gaming community.

Feel the same, if it stays hopefully the majority people will talk with their wallets so this is shot down immediately.

Personally the reason why I owned previous consoles was the advantage of collecting used games for low prices and having to play them with family/friends (offline gaming) without sitting in my room all day alone to PC game alone. Having to reconnect back to the internet after 24 hours just gives me another reason not to buy XboxOne. Owners are not to allowed to have their own library of hardcopies be it new or used and be able to play them offline for long/indefinite duration. I'm expecting Sony PS4 to have something similar to this since Its likely they didn't implement this idea alone without the backing of major game publishers because it would be suicide, if not. Well It seems Microsoft just ran into another blunder along with Windows 8 sales.

I wonder how similar is this to Steam...I do like the idea of the Steam owners still have access to his/her games when logging on another computer and be able to install/play them many times as needed. I haven't had issues yet with Steam Offline mode, normally when I'm without internet access for very long durations of weeks to months during a travel with laptop.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/408099/xbox-one-will-require-an-internet-connection-once-every-day/

And for the worse case when Microsoft decides to retire XboxOne and its online services in the near/far future? I can imagine it would generate lots of angry customers. Though possible they would make a patch to bypass online activation by then to allow indefinite offline use.

well they value playing the games over their rights and wallet, their loss or rather everyone's loss except for the publishers

The game is saved to the console's HDD but the disk code is linked to the account.
If your account does not have the code that is linked to that disc, and only that disc, then the game won't play.

There was no mention of the Kinect being involved, but if Microsoft wants to dig their grave deeper... so be it.

Reminds me I need to install PS on this PC. Microsoft better have one hell of a E3 game lineup. Especially with all those new franchises they promised. Better not be some BS kinect games too, Kinect Pet Sports, Kinect Water Polo or some crap like that. Cause technically, those are new franchises

Kinect Water Polo... lachen.gif, E3 can't come soon enough, it will be fun.

Love the summary! That presentation was so awful I couldn't sit through it, even with skipping ahead. The presenters all had that souless fake enthusiasm, that makes me cringe. In any case, I would like something that allows me to control my TV more easily, and if it plays games that would be cool too. However, the devil is in the details. I will just let the early adopters to figure out if it actually works. tongue.gif
