I think Sony Fanboys are just butthurt that they can't run TV through their console and have instant switching. No more having to watch a loading screens. While the standard cable company guide is always pretty good, that new guide looks pretty good as well. IR blaster port on the back, this will be a pretty cool machine. We may not have gotten to look at some of the games, but at least what we saw of the dashboard looked years ahead of what sony was doing.

Ow boy mate lets not start a Fanboy wars, try to at least be impartial, lets keep this thread clean...just saying, anyway That's what MS is going for a All in once device, MS is taking a different path from Sony, Sony seems to be giving Gaming 1st priority and Media Center 2nd, MS is going the other way around, MS might be on to something but its risking annoying its Core Gamers.

1.) "So it's basically a HTPC" - Yup. You don't want it, but you built one on top of the gaming PC you already have...hmmmm 2 pcs vs 1 Xbox...tough choice.

2.) "you can't trade games or sell used games without a fee" - Well all you Steam fans...where's your I hate Steam (or any other online DL vendor) thread because THIS is precisely what I subject myself to now...oh wait...I can't resell or trade my Steam games...XBOX One still one up on PC games. (Even though I'm not a fan not being able to resell games or trade games...nor do I like the fee to do so...you have to admit that you at least have some sort of option with the XBox)

3.) "It's ugly" - Wooptie dooo! - I personally don't think it's that ugly...but this is personal preference...doesn't effect performance...probably still looks better than most PC cases....and at least looks the part of an entertainment console.

4.) "We dont want an all in one device, we just want a console" - I'm calling BS on this one. Look at all your PC builds. Most people are looking for this exact thing. How many people have their gaming PC hooked up to their main TV...ALOT. How many play games and watch TV on their main TV...ALOT. How many play their music from their PC on their home theater...ALOT....how many companies are trying to build the exact same thing MS just revealed...ALL of them...TV makers, Blu ray makers, Apple TV, Google TV, Smart TV, Smart dvd players, smart blu ray players, cable boxes, etc. OCNers real complaint is that it isn't a 3770k with a Titan in a altoid size box that looks like an Antec 900 and is fully upgradeable to SLI titans and haswell....all for $299.

5.) Graphics = fun is not a direct relationship. Yes the XBOX and PS4 will not have the graphic fidelity that PCs have. But that in no way will reflect the amount of fun that can be had on said console. For all those that are more interested in the larger and more supported community, lesser quality graphics are a happy sacrifice. Most wont know the difference anyway. Most console gamers couldn't recognize the difference between a 720p and 1080p. Most couldn't care less between 45fps and 60fps. What real difference will it make to the average consumer?

All that being said...I don't like the direction the consoles are going either. But I don't think they have gone far enough into screwing consumers to the point that these companies flop hard hard on these devices. At least hard enough to bring about another gaming revolution.

Don't know why people are complaining saying that it's "OMG It's an HTPC! roar!!!"

It's no different than what's offered on the current 360.  it's all just software. If they wanted hard DRM on their games, they could do it NOW.  People using the xbox for something other than gaming? Oh my god what treachery! Movies/ TV/ Internet/ Apps.....we already have it on the 360.  So why do people hold the Xbox One to a different standard.  Did you want them to strip it of features and only offer gaming?  Way to go back to the past.

Everything they showed us yesterday was just what we currently have, but vastly fine tuned and expanded upon.   Look at how different the 360's UI is now compared to it's release.  Expect the same thing from the Xbox One.  So much complaining.  Just wait until E3 for goodness sake.  Is MS's conference was held to focus on everybody's selfish needs, it'd last for days.  What we saw was only a whiff.

Nah, coding for PCs without just squeezing out a GFWL port will still require effort. And to a platform that is "ridden by pirates" its not worth it.

People keep forgetting that current consoles are still stuck in 720p. 1080p will be a big jump up for them, something we have had since 1080p came out.

The consoles hardware will effect graphics very minimally for PC gamers initially. Maybe a few years after release we will see some marginally impressive stuff from the PC ports.

They are lucky Apple didn't make the Xbox 1...lawsuits would be incoming. I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen out of MS for that matter, but I think XONE to Xbox ONE is too far for MS to care about. Especially for mixers that few people even know about.

This reveal didn't do much of anything...I was expecting it to effect the market a bit, but MS and AMD are remaining pretty much flat lined. Heh, though Sony had a rather massive jump that coincides with the Xbox reveal. I wasn't able to watch the stream, but I've been watching pieces of it. I don't see anything incredibly bad about it...nothing good, but then reveals of new products seldom ever give you any real information. They are just supposed to instill a little confidence in consumers (and the market) about your product.

what's so next-gen about Xone so far ?! nothing really but a dog in COD smile.gif

And how would that be different than any other add on HTPC type device? Google TV or HTPC home build etc?

What's Ironic is that during PC vs Console arguments, PC elitists always toot the same horn "of course our PC's cost more, it can do more than just gaming!  Consoles are so limited!  DERP"

and about the look of the console.  It's trying to appeal to the masses.  What 60 year old father is going to pick up a Xbox One if it had green and white zebra print on it.  It needs to look professional and fit in with the TV / Receiver / Cable box (though maybe no more cable box?)
