The honeycomb matches the cell design perfectly, I was just using the honeycomb as a reference. Looking forward to see what you can come up with though.

Have you ever tried hand cutting hexagons? I've tried. I sucked at it.

Cutting out and gluing would be ideal, the way it would look with the refracting of light would be epic, but getting every piece to the exact same specs would be torture.

For something highly geometric, I'd recommend laser cutting or have someone with the right tools to do the job, hand cutting is just asking for disaster....

I would definetly get it laser cut, if I only knew where I could get it laser cut at a decent price!
I asked a company in Belgium to get my GPU backplate cut. It was aprox 275mm x 115mm x 3mm (10.8" x 4.5" x 1/22" ). That would've cost me 125€ (=160$), which is way to expensive in my opinion!
Therefore, I'm still looking for an affordable laser cutting company in Belgium to get all of my cutting done smile.gif. Finding a good and reasonable priced laser cutter would solve alot of my problems!

Why not try a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range?

Excellent idea, but I don't really like the front.. This is ofcourse your choice, but consider remodeling the front. thumb.gif
