BrokenSATA HD port, is it fixable?

Thread Starter
So When I got my new card I noticed that the Sata port on my 2nd HDD had broke and now the Sata cable wont stay in properly.
here is a picture of my HDD's:

You can see on the top HDD the plastic piece that covers the pins snapped off.

What I'm wondering is if there is a way to re-attatch the plastic piece or find some type ghetto rig to be able to have the cable attached and not fall out.

I have 320GB of movies,tv shows, and important pictures, documents and among other things that I desperately need access to, either to have the HD useable, or just be able to copy everything onto another HD.

I wanted to post this before I took any steps and made it worse. Has anyone had this problem before, or knows of a way to fix this?
Any help will be appreciated.

Is the HDD still being read even without that plastic bracket on the pins? If so, you can makeshift attach it by plugging it in then securing it with some electrical tape. I am not sure if you should use adhesive on those pins as it may permanently damage it.

put some super glue on the end of the cable, but not inside the connector and then carefully slide it on.

Your cable will be forever attached to that hard drive, but it should work. I got one that the "L" bracket part broke off some how so I just glued a cable to it. I have countless sata cables laying around anyway and it saved the HDD

I've used tape before on one that was partially broken and it managed to slip off on occasion, the problem being without the right angled bit vibration will eventually cause it to slip, so I think you may have to consider something more extreme like superglue.

Little update:

I glued my Sata cable to the HDD with the plastic in the cable port and its holding.
after wresting with my PSU cables I managed to plug it in

1st try: I plugged it in, everything started up normal, The HDD wasn't showing up thought.

2nd try I plugged it into another Sata port, where my CD drive was plugged in and I get a "Boot Mgr not found, press ctrl+alt+del to restart"

So does that mean its seeing the HDD plugged in but trying to run it as my primary HDD and cant find the OS?
