Subyman - Heartbreak Rigid: A short definition of OCD, great photos, Impressive but a lack of a truly impressive mod held this back
KingChris - The Dual: Possibly the most impressive mod, Very Overpowered, held back by poor photos and the fact you have to go to the build log to realise how impressive this is.
Great work everyone.
Similar to my views.
ROG TJ08E - Best presentation overall, and best photography. It had some CnC which is always a plus, but didn't really push any boundaries of modding. Clean and precise.
Nighthawk - Interesting concept with screen, but everything else is average. IMHO taking apart a digital frame isn't that difficult (may be novel though). Perhaps if the next iteration the screen could be programmed? That would be something stellar, if also in conjunction of nice guts.
Heartbreak rigid - The photographs also don't do it justice, and the two chosen especially don't reveal what's going on inside. The 7970 covers a lot, and the piping isn't showcased as much as it should have been. Then, the exposed fans on top is aesthetically unpleasing, and Caselabs case is functional but ugly.
The Dual: The most intriguing mod of the four, but also the least harmonious. It's an interesting idea that's executed pretty well but not unified in design, so it looks a bit shoddy. This fits the mod theme the best in spirit but the worst aesthetically. Even though there's a lot of clever things in there, two systems in one and all, having two behemoth rads just there, it doesn't feel like it's a whole system, but rather a collection of parts jumbled together that just happens to work. With all three other contenders there's a clear vision of what they want to make their build to be, and it's less apparent here.
