Visiontek 1600xt xge or BFG 7800 GS

Thread Starter
I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on which card is best.
The Visiontek has higher speeds

Visiontek
http://www.visiontek.com/products/ca...xt512_agp.html

BFG
http://www.bfgtech.com/7800GS_256.html

I have BFG right now, but wondered if the VisionTek is better and how much.
I cant find any benchmarks comparing the two

They are both DDR3 and Shader 3

Thanks for all the help

7800GS is better IMO.
That would be a downgrade for sure. If you are even thinkin about an AGP upgrade then think about the new 1950AGP. IMHO thats not even worth it, 7800gs is pretty much it especially for the price you would pay for a high end AGP. If you have any Futuremark benches then do a project search and compare.

7800GS will win that one. At stock speeds, the X1650XT might have the upper hand but a little overclocking will see the 7800GS breeze by it maintaining a nice temp and perfect stability.

But if you are a die-hard for image quality, the radeon is a little bit better.

if you look at the specs for the new 1950pro agp and the 1650xt agp they are about the same. The 1650xt is slightly higher, yet the 1950 has to do with blue ray. I am not talking about the DDR2 1600xt, there is a DDR3 1600xt also. A 256 and 512

check out the links above and compare. Most info on the 1600xt is the DDR2 card, yet not much on the DDR3 one. People are saying things but are there any benchmarks to back it.

Dude, the X1950Pro will murder the 7800GS. But the X1600XT, even with DDR3 is a different card altogether. X1600XT DDR3 may have similar clock speeds with the X1950Pro but the similarity stops there. X1600XT runs on 128bit effective mem interface while the latter runs on 256bit(So does the 7800GS), it also only has 24 shader engines compared to the latters 36. Really a world of difference between an X1950Pro and an X1600XTDDR3.

X1950Pro>7800GS>X1600XTDDR3
