Best cost-benefit MOBO for FX-6300?

Thread Starter
Hi guys. First of all, sorry my bad english.
I'm about to buy a new CPU (FX-6300), but I don't have any ideas about the MOBO ...
A friend of mine told me about the M5a97 EVO R2.0, but I found it a little bit expensive.
Can you guys give me some advices?
Thanks

my ASRock 970DE3/U3S3 has yet to disappoint me, and it was dirt cheap.

There's any big difference about this one for the m5a97? Able to OC?
Thanks.

The biggest difference is that the ASUS has a second PCIe x16 slot, so it is capable of crossfire setups with two AMD GPUs, the ASRock cannot as it only has one PCIe x16 slot

And yes, the 970DE3/U3S3 is quite capable of overclocking,

Not a big deal then since I will not crossfire two gpus soon.
That gigabyte 970a-UD3 is $60 more expensive than your ASRock and $70 cheaper than EVO where I live...
Worth the extra $?

The gigabyte is worth the extra the ASrock is a cheap budget board with 4+1 phase and no cooling for the VRM's. Ok if you don't plan to OC or push it hard but compared to the Gigabyte its not good.

RAM these days is pretty hard to miss with, if you want to be on the safe side, look up the compatibility list for the mobo you are buying and pick a set to buy. My recommendation is just get whatever is on the list and is 8GBs of 1600 DDR3 for the lowest price available to you
