I have always wondered about how interesting it would be if Samsung or IBM entered the desktop market with products to rival AMD and Intel. (or in IBM's case RE-entered).

AMD plans on including HSA compatibility with dedicated GPUs and CPUs in the future. Bigger latency yes, but a lot more computation power.

If a game heavily relies on HSA... It would be interesting to see an APU + dedicated GPU stand toe-to-toe against an i7 + dedicated GPU.

Are the CPU/GPUs in the PS4 and XBOX One similar enough to allow easy porting of HSA type features?  If so, that would certainly help adoption, but if you have to re-write the code substantially for both platforms I would think that would limit HSA acceptance.  You'd expect developers to write to the lowest common denominator.

HSA is very easy to code.

So is HSA/hUMA even incorporated into x1? Considering it uses ddr3 I wouldn't think it would.

PS4 will use HSA maybe not all the features. About xbox i dont know.With hUMA its pretty easy to code for HSA if you know how to. It will be intresting to see HSA adoption from the consoles

This is what I expected to see with ARM becoming so popular due to mobile devices.

AMD and Intel need to branch out into more mobile devices instead of staying with pc's only.
