Somehow that remind me of this

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:

1. For no reason at all, your car would crash twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines on the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally, executing a manoeuver such as a left-turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, and you would have to reinstall the engine.

4. When your car died on the freeway for no reason, you would just accept this, restart and drive on.

5. Only one person at a time could use the car, unless you bought 'Car95' or 'CarNT', and then added more seats.

6. Apple would make a car powered by the sun, reliable, five times as fast, and twice as easy to drive, but would run on only five per cent of the roads.

7. Oil, water temperature and alternator warning lights would be replaced by a single 'general car default' warning light.

8. New seats would force every-one to have the same size butt.

9. The airbag would say 'Are you sure?' before going off.

10. Occasionally, for no reason, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key, and grabbed the radio antenna.

11. GM would require all car buyers to also purchase a deluxe set of road maps from Rand-McNally (a subsidiary of GM), even though they neither need them nor want them. Trying to delete this option would immediately cause the car's performance to diminish by 50 per cent or more. Moreover, GM would become a target for investigation by the Justice Department.

12. Every time GM introduced a new model, car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

13. You would press the 'start' button to shut off the engine.

I think Microsoft wants a single Xbox One per household in USA.

And that's a hell of a market.

Even people whom are not interested in the Xbox One will think that they will need xbox one for better TV and Video entertainment.

Obviously you don't understand the appeal to the developers of this. The used gaming industry is killing (yes KILLING) studios. Why buy the game new when you can get it used for 25% off at your local gamestop? And how does the re-telling of a game help the developers?

It doesn't, just yourself.

Not as much as you may think though. There's so many crap games people play cause they got it cheap or a friend gave it to them etc, etc. Gamers will become "ultra" discerning consumers from now on. The vast majority of gamers just don't have the money to throw $60 here and there at these games that, like that Aliens fiasco, are often hyped up polished pieces of sht. So some developers will have to lower their prices because people don't trust them. I have no issue with going after pirating, but not letting that disk get run on a second system is just a little trifle to me. So basically if you get a new FPS that you think is cool but none of your buddies have, you have to have them over to play...and that's assuming you have a setup to accommodate multiple players. How lame would the first two Xbox's have been if we couldn't have taken our copies of Halo over to our buddies for giant lan parties? Gaming is becoming overly corporatized, now wouldn't be a bad time for an old name to throw it's hat back in the ring. biggrin.gif

The developers were already PAID for the game. Why do they need to be PAID AGAIN AND AGAIN?

If I buy a used car and I pay the seller, do I have to turn around and PAY the manufacturer again? What world is this??

I do agree about used games. And one solution for that is going digital mostly. And 500GB is not a lot of HDD space for that purpose.

I don't understand how that fee is any different from computers... You can't even buy used games due to CD keys and most of the top games are now tied to either Origin or Steam which means you can't share it. Worst case scenario you sign into your own account at a friends house like I did years ago.

I much prefer gaming on the PC but you can't say that the XBOX is dying if it absorbing the same things that the PC has already done. I'm done with consoles solely because it gets difficult sharing a tv with the fiance and is much easier to game on a laptop to keep her happy and quiet smile.gif
