Questions about 3570K temp

Thread Starter
Hi everybody,
Just upgraded my system yesterday and I have few questions to ask.
With an ambiant temp of 21C, I was checking my brand new 3570k temps when it went from 33C on idle to 58C durning a stress test. Ivy bridge are known as pretty hot chips, but I'm still wondering if those temps are fine.
for the record I use Z77-UD3H mobo and a Cooler Master EVO 212+ for CPU cooling.
Guys, what do you think about those temps, are they normal ? If so, how much overclock I can get with this configuration.
Thanks for any help and sorry for my bad english.

From my experience with my 3570k it looks about right, maybe a tad high...

but it looks to be in the ballpark of where my chip was when I had it cooled with an air cooler....

and with the 212 Evo I would think you should easily be able to achieve a 4.3-4.5 ghz OC. With a Xigmatek Gaia and an Asrock z77 itx I had my i5 running just fine at those speeds with temps just baily creeping into the mid 60's. But, overall you should be ok as long as your temps arent in the 90's smile.gif

maybe 4.3ghz max

Not even close to unsafe, so I wouldn't worry about it. Its amazing how much people freak out about temps when there is zero danger in cases like this.

I have the same CPU and heatsink cooler. I was only able to get to 4.3 max with 70 C under full load and just under 60 for regular usage.

Your temp seems high for stock clock. Perhaps you can try re-seating the heatsink and make sure the airflow of the case makes sense.

It seems about right to me Ivy's get very hot and you're not near the thermal limit of the CPU
