oh?

so a $180 $168 FX-8320 getting beat by a $125 i3 3220 in games is cheaper?

AMD processors are not bad. I am on my third AMD system, and honestly I have never had problems with things not working well, or been unhappy with performance other than a motherboard issue. Though if I had the money laying around, I would have prolly gone with a 3770k build. Intel are the obvious king of this generation. But, for the money, the performance you get out of an AMD system is MORE than worth it. I know this is irrelevant with the current generation and maybe even Steamroller. But the current list of talent AMD has recently hired, including rehiring one of their top people away from Apple, they are going to make a huge hit in the GPU and CPU area by time Excavator comes out. Excavator may even get an entire overhaul based on the people they are currently bringing in. This is all speculation but it seems reasonable based on who they have hired recently.

My current build started with a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 and a FX-6300. It now sits with an ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z and a FX-8320. I am very happy with my setup now. I should state that the reason for MB and CPU change is due to the Gigabyte board frying a few components and I can't wait a month to have a working PC like the last time I had to RMA a motherboard with Gigabyte.

Edit Addition:
AMD are somewhat more future friendly compared to Intel. Their CPUs can generally be used in the boards a generation above or below their specific socket. If i remember correctly an AM3+ CPU CAN work in an AM3 socket, will work in an AM3+ socket and will work in an AM4 socket. Intel has somewhat done this more recently, but they still like to have a socket refresh more often than AMD does. This could also be why Intel CPUs are generally known to be better. Better CPU communication across the entire board due to sockets being specifically designed for that CPU architecture.

This looks like a thread that's going places.

Anyhow, Intel because I care more about pure performance than price/performance (up to a certain point).

Why are you trying to insult me with a picture?

I gather you fell off the top of your roof this morning, and hit everything in the street on the way down...

Get a sense of humor... try reading what i said, instead of thinking i said something else.

My name... AMD655, both intel and AMD machines...
