Heart & budget: AMD
Higher budget & brain: Intel

If I can help, I'll try to stick with AMD tongue.gif
Though, when people ask me for a "gaming" rig, it's rare I give them an AMD cpu nowadays.

AMD chips can still overclock (If the non k edition 1155 chips can overclock, let me know what chipset,) so my fun computer runs AMD (the 940 is no slouch, it is almost 5 years old and still runs games reasonably well.) My work computer was found in a dumpster and as such is the bigger market share holder known as Intel.
The AMD socket FM2 CPUs seem nice since the graphics are sufficient to run anything the average consumer will throw at it.

AMD chips are used when the budget is too low to afford a k edition socket 1155 CPU (usually around 800 new and 500 used is my minimum budget for an i5 2500k to be used in the build.)

My 955 BE is still a VERY capable chip....

Here is a bench i performed in my build log for my almost 4.5year old DRAGON.

This game cannot be maxed on this AMD rig, i also tried the 7770 in my intel rig, and produced almost the exact same numbers across the board.

This was tested at 1920x1080 which means lowered details had to be used.

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
20936, 333795, 10, 147, 62.721

Test conducted under firestorm 64 man for 10 minutes.

Ok, i decided to bench the GTX 480 in the same rig and the same settings, i have a 870mhz oc on the 480 with 4.1ghz memory (not far off it's maximum 24/7 OC, performance at this OC is more comparable to a 7950/ 660Ti with some breathing room of course.

This will see if the Phenom II is bottlenecking...

You may be surprised....

Same 64man server, Operation Firestorm.

2013-05-20 14:32:14 - bf3
Frames: 22081 - Time: 231225ms - Avg: 95.496 - Min: 48 - Max: 149

Now, the only thing we should be looking at is minimum FPS, both GPU's deliver enough frames average and max, but the 7770 in intense action with tanks bombarding shows it's 128 bit bus weakness.

However, the card was cheap, and it does a fine job, so all in all, i am very happy thumb.gif

The rest of your rant is just stupid.

Who gives a damn if it is 15 or 30fps higher, my point is 60 is smooth game play why do you need more. These guys who care about every little frame and point in benchmarks needs to go outside and have sex or something and stop obsessing over minor things, if it's gaming you are concerned about AMD can run with the best of them in terms of offering smooth frame rates.

You are saying that having sex has any merit to this topic?

Generally, i do not associate the two.... but seeing as you are so uptight and angry, we know who needs the time out...

I have no bias with either brand....

Defensive fans are always like this, even a non bias one gets caught in the crap...

Not quite 60FPS now is it......

In a few titles, intel chips bring these games to playable frame rates.
