radiator box, a differant approach

Thread Starter
This started with several ideas that I had read about and decided to join them together. First a separate bottom mount box to fit under a HAF 932. Second how to get rid of the fan motor dead spot. Third push\pull fans.
I started with the size I needed and then the materials that would be used. 4x120 Acool rad, plexiglass acetal.
The bottom is made from 3\4 acetal and the ends are made with 1\2 acetal while the sides are 1\4 plexi. (that is all the acetal I had)
As you can see the radiator is mounted in the center of the box thus getting rid of the motor dead spot and each side will be sealed form each other when finished.Push in one side and pull out the other side. A center support is needed to seal both sides and support the top. As one article had mentioned going with just push fans the air kinda bangs around in the rad fins before exiting but here the pull fans will straighten the air out to exit smoothly. (kind of makes sense)
Acetal and plexi both cut while well with a fine tooth table saw. This is just the start I still have a lot of work to do so please comment.

A little farther tonight, got the holes cut out everything fits perfect. Now the question is should I paint the hole thing black or leave the sides clear?

I'll say you're doing a fine job on that rad box thumb.gif My suggestion is to paint the whole thing in glossy black, so it shines like a champ biggrin.gif
