I can't quite say that any of them are more reliable than the other, but I would go with the WD Book, because I have the 2TB version and I have had no problems.

Passport looks promising smile.gif and i know how good they are with speed since i already got an 1tb for entertainement on the run for my laptop smile.gif it got 60MB transfer rate on the usb 3.0 too smile.gif

But one other thing:

What is the safest? burning anime on bluray disks? or having them on hd's? cause many of the anime's i've got now is kinda rare and took me a great long while to fetch. and it would be kind of an disaster for me if the hdd got corrupt.

If you have important data.... you should have at least two copies on separate machines.

External HDDs are just desktop/laptop HDDs in an enclosure... nothing more. So reliability is hard know because we don't know failure rates.
Once again...

^^^^ This. If you're going to buy something, make sure you buy TWO of them. One for a backup copy.

The external hard drives all have consumer grade commodity 3TB SATA drives in them. None are outstanding in terms of reliability, but I'd have to give a nod to Western Digital over Seagate only because 100% of my 4 Seagate external drives have failed within 5 years, and 0% of my three WD drives have failed. Take that for what it's worth - not much. LOL.

Absolutely do not trust your data to any single hard drive, internal or external. Make sure you have a backup.

and is bluray disks better to use? or hdd's?

2TB or 3TB, as long as you have enough space for your back up... to be safe you could also put the anime on blu rays as well. smile.gif
