Battlefield 4 DLC announced already

On the official Battlefield FB page, they announce their first expansion as a pre order bonus here

Well, needless to say the got a massive sh#tstorm and only replied to people that were in approval for it. Honestly I think companies need to stop doing this.
I think they ripped a lot of people off with BF3 by releasing a Limited Edition and then later releasing Premium. I think they're doing the same thing here, but they won't get me twice!
What do you guys think about this?
I'm still getting the game biggrin.gif

Yeah I was kind of sore after having paid for the Limited Edition and then being told that I need to shell out another $60 to play the other half of the maps.

That's why I wait until stuff like Premium comes out. It's part of the product life cycle. (Marketing 101)

But in someways is also deceiving the consumer don't you think?
Promising a DLC to boost pre order sales then releasing a special edition later, and then months after that announcing Premium service that has the all DLC including (of course) the one that you pre ordered or bought the special edition for. I think the PS3 and 360 gen made game developers lazy and even more money hungry as they found ways to milk more out of gamers on all platforms alike. With full internet capabilities and built in hard drives, they can just release a game and patch it later. They also take advantage of the online services (PSN and XBL) to sell downloadable content. You couldn't do that in the PS2 Xbox days. When they made a game, they made it in full and that was that. It's only gonna get worse frown.gif

Not only that, but it was tied to the system and not the account. So if you bought Premium on PS3, you couldn't buy the PC version and still be a premium member. Another way to get more money out of people.

ya well that's the price you pay to be a head of people like you.

obv everything gets cheaper with age (except wine lol)

but for people who want it all when it comes out, we are willing / capable o spending the little extra money.

besides, there's really no guarantee that things like that will come out, and even if or when they will.

its not so much as deceiving, its added value over time, like when the game has been out we all know that after a month or two lol, that the price goes down, so to keep the price at or above the diminished value they need to add something, yes its for added revenue, but hey invest in the product you use for the most return.

the titan will be the same, in a year or two they are probably going to add a huge game bundle or something to keep up sales. but I already have one, so that would be a time to maybe get another, or to upgrade to the newest one smile.gif

its people like us (early adopters) that like to have the newest best things smile.gif whether epeen or performance its the same with anything. some like to have nice things, others don't mind waiting to save a few bucks, either way is good, they still keep our economy going.
