Im thinking about getting a new gpu in the next few months. My choices are either a gtx 580 another 6870 if i can fix it or a 7950? What should I get and please provide fps proof. All I do is game and overclock really. I got out of the 3dmark phase a while back

What games are you into? some games prefer nvidia, while others prefer amd. Shop around for deals. I scored a 660ti 2gb sc with receipt and warranty for 200 on craigslist. I say research what card runs your favorite games better. Not just more fps, but how smooth the actual gameplay is. Nvidia is great with updating drivers. AMD is sometimes bang for your buck.

Crysis farcry , dirt and need for speed pretty much. A lil bit of cod everyonce jn a while. Oh and cs go. The only reason why I would even consider another 6870 is Igot my first one for free as my friend knockex a resistor off the back of it. I ended up soldering it back on

Id say a GTX 660ti. Some of my friends are having problems with cod on 7870ghz and 7790. apparently something to do with loading the game on time. Both have ssd's. It's really hard to go wrong with either a 7950 or 660ti. I would avoid crossfire.

Get a 7950 and overclock it to get 7970 performance.
