[Gigabyte]GIGABYTE motherboards have lowest RMA rate - Page 8

I've been using mostly gigabyte boards for the last several years but switched over to asus boards lately as I kept getting quirky issues developing with my gigabyte boards that I could never really solve myself and typically buying second hand you don't get the receipt for warranty or its expired etc...

Thus far no issues with 3 different asus boards I've had this year. But to be fair I haven't used them as long as my gigabyte boards yet.

Regardless those stats are pretty decent and I don't really have an issue recommending any of the companies.

Good skew of the info for some solid Giga-nut riding ! The article could state anything.. though the way the "facts" are arranged, people assume so much. GJ nubs.

*french e-tailer huh? This takes into account what % of the total market?

*% of returns isnt based on the ratio of boards purchased.. so what if the frenchies like MSI and ASUS and bought 8x more boards than Giga?

*what % of squarebears buy Giga boards to run stock systems..?

*what % of performance users/overclockers returned boards due to issues [regardless of type or manufacturer]?

*you think news posted in a manufacturer forum isnt skewed to support them..? Like they would take a gamble on letting you the reader decide something for yourself based on unbias info..? <-That is called "Bad Marketing" .. lolz

EVGA doesn't have much of a presence in France (where this data comes from), so no numbers for them.

I've been building PC's for over ten years and never had to RMA motherboard. I've used Asus, Epox, Abit and Asrock mobos without any problems. Same thing with CPU, GPU and RAM. Not a single failure.

Any statisticians here want to calculate the odds of me having to RMA 2 Asrock Z68 Extreme 4 motherboards in a row?

even if you had 10 boards from brand X and one had to be RMA'd then you were extremely unlucky. That's pretty much why I don't stop buying from a brand if I happen to get a borked item. It's just called being unlucky .

I'm not sure everyone here is saying what you think they're saying. In my case, I'm saying that since my personal experiences reflect what the large-sample statistics suggest, I am not surprised to see those numbers. I'm not claiming the reverse by saying my sample size is large enough to where my personal experiences would let a person draw any statistically relevant conclusion.

How's that a concern? I would say 20~30% of individual parts buyers but that's just a guess. BIOSTAR, ECS, Zotac (motherboards not GPUs) are also absent here.

hardware.fr is an independant website, they don't take any sponsorship, besides, those numbers and published by them and given by LDLC.com, a major retailer in France.

Yea they're almost absent as for motherboards, their GPUs are easy to find through.

Considering this post, would you guys buy a MSI MPOWER over a UD5H ?

5% is still pretty low to me, also 1 to 3% speaks more to me,
The only problem I see with the UD5H is the lack of PS2 (needed for my incoming mechanical keyboard)
