Ah, so with mine at mediocre 1200mhz on the core, atleast I know I should generally be in the ballpark of a 780. Good enough for me considering the 7970 is 'ancient' now in terms of time on the market.
Now if the 780 or 9970 can drop power consumption enough, as well as be on average be 15% faster or more and OC well (and when they drop down below $500, that is if they do assuming current price trends) then I'll upgrade, if not I think most on 7970's or nvidia equivalents would be wise to wait for the next round.
