Help me upgrade my Water cooled R4

HI,

So, I have a CPU only loop in my PC currently. I am looking at upgrading it and including the GPU.

This is what is in my case right now.

Fractal Design R4
Asus P8Z77-V-LK Motherboard
Asus GTX 670 DCII
Corsair HX-620

In regards to watercooling I have the following

EX240 (mounted in the top) with two Corsair AF120 fans
EK-D5 X-RES 140
Alphacool D5 Vario
XSPC Raystorm CPU Block

On the way I have the EK Full cover block for the GPU.

The advice I am looking for is what radiator and fans to go with. I can fit a 280 rad. I only have about 55mm clearance so thick radiators are out of the question.
I was looking at getting an EX280 Rad but not sure on the fans. I was also looking at the Hardware labs SR1 280mm Rad which would just fit I think.

I cant seem to find any recommendations on the type of fans to use. I want to get the best fans which are not too loud.
I think I will also replace the AF120s with the Sycthe 120 1850rpm fans but are there any better ones I should look at?

I am looking at reducing costs so I am trying to buy from one store. Mainly www.pccasegear.com

Also in regards to the coolant used in the system. I am using Silver and Distilled currently but have heard bad things about silver and nickel. would it be better to use a pre-mixed solution like the EK-Koolant?

I plan on going from the PUMP>GPU>CPU>RAD1>RAD2>RES>PUMP I know it is probably more Ideal to go block > rad > block > rad but I don't see that working in this case. Also from what I have read that it doesn't make a huge difference in temperatures.

If you have any other recommendations feel free to let me know

I don't have any pictures of it right now (I guess I could take one hahaha) but here is one when I was leak testing.

Thanks smile.gif

The fans I am looking at are the following;

Nanoxia Deep Silence 140mm Fan
BitFenix Spectre Pro 140mm Black Fan
XSPC 140mm Xinruilian Fan 1350RPM
Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPRO PK-3 140mm
Cougar CF-V14HB Vortex Hydro-Dynamic-Bearing 140mm Black

Out of all of them I would say that the Noiseblocker or the Cougar are the two choices that stand out, however I can't seem to find many opinions of them on radiators (maybe my google is just broke, haha) The XSPC fans and the Naxonia are cheap fans that claim to perform decently so I am not so sure about these either.

Definitely replace the af120s on your radiator, those aren't really very good for that. I like the corsair sp series fans, but they are stupid loud at full speed.

Here are some fan roundups. You want something with good static pressure for your radiator.

Thanks,

I am going to go with the GT fans on the 240 rad. I have been looking into it a bit and think I will go with the Noiseblocker fans on the 280 rad. I am still considering between the SR1 and the EX. I am going to double/triple check the measurements that the SR1 would fit. I think from reading the SR1 will give slightly better performance so I think I would probably settle with this one.
