Sorry for the delay, the rig was ready a month ago but I wasn't sure it will stay as I have delivered it to the end user.
Indeed, I was not happy with the noise, especially the one coming from the Intel stock cooler. Turned out the end user is not as picky as me!
If I had to swap it for another one, I would prolly have tried the Noctua NH-L9i.
I finally took the easiest way with less (=no) modding needed: ATX PSU -> Seasonic G360
But that option made the case even tighter, I had a hard time putting everything in it. Actually I had to:
- Install the mobo
- Add the PSU to prepare its cables
- Remove the PSU
- Remove the mobo
- Put the PSU back in
- Attached the PSU cables to the mobo out of the case
- Put the mobo back in
It wasn't even easy to choose the right place for the 2.5" HDD and SSD.
I finally double taped them on the bottom of the case under the PSU.
And when everything was running fine, after a few hours of testing the Gainward GTX 650 started to make some annoying sound!
Hopefully it has stopped as it came, but not before I took it out once or twice...

Was fun but really tight!
Heat doesn't seem to be an issue, the PSU stayed quiet during all my testing.
