Xonar FlexBass on headphones

Thread Starter
Ive read that FlexBass redirects frequencies to ie subwoofer, or something like that, i dont know i am noob at audio. But i use only headphones with my Xonar DG. When i turn off FlexBass the basses are rumbling(or how to call it) when turned on, the strong bas rumbling stops. What FlexBass do in conjuction with headphones? Does it make sense to turn it on/off? thanks.

This is common with speaker systems, at least generally. If you have a subwoofer, the goal is to send the subwoofer only the bass frequencies that it can do well and then remove the bass from the signal that the other speakers get (so you don't have low-quality bass coming out of them and messing them up). Usually there's a cutoff frequency you can set that determines what goes to the normal speakers and what goes to the sub.

Presumably what's happening is that turning it on just cuts out the bass frequencies from the signal sent to the headphones. Uh... yeah, that's not what you want. You don't have a sub, and headphones are supposed to be full-range. Turn it off.
