Gigabyte HD 7870 low benchmark results???

Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and I have a concern that I am hoping to get some help from you guys to sort it out.
So I bought the Gigabyte HD 7870 when it was on sale for 230 after tax with the game bundle and I overclocked the card to almost the extreme.
It was set for 1100MHz core and 1200 MHz memory with 1.219V voltage.

I put it up to 1300MHz core, 1400 MHz memory and 1.3V and tested in 3Dmark 11 and got a score as shown in the picture

and compare to say this guy on 3Dmark 11 online with the same card:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5653887
or this guy:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/3220761
he's even on stock and got way better results than mine, ***????

However, I could reach potentially 100fps in BF 3 metro map with ultra settings at rare times like the SS with a max temp of 67 degrees C:

What is going on??devil.gif

Any help is welcome.

running 16GB RAM hyperX i5 3570k @4.1GHz, not that this matters, just look at the graphic scores!

Are you using windows 8 by any chance?
because i used to have windows 8 and what happened with windows 8 is that it used so much system resources in the background than windows 7 that i got on windows 8 1000 less p score than i had with windows 7.

I am running on Win 7 Ult, and even with 1000 increase it will still put me on the low side...

You are on the low side. With my 2500k at 4.5 and 7870 at 1150/ 1350 i score 8300-8400. I'll find a pic in a few and post it. It has to be something software i would think.

e: Also, what driver are you using? I saw a big jump from 13.2beta7 to 13.5beta2 with 13.4cap1.

I couldn't figure out why... I tried almost every combination and the graphics score doesnt want to go up, but is the gaming performance fine? I get about 68-85 fps on average in BF5...

I will have to check on that. I did an extreme test and got X2586 as the score. but the graphics score is still low at 2310. I don't get it, the gaming performance is not bad but the benchmarks is just... Even those card with mild overclocking has a better score than mine. I don't usually run the card at this kind of overclocking but with usual settings, it's still bad. Is it a bad copy or...?

Hmmm what do you think the problem might be? Do you think the gaming performance is good though? Should I hang on the benchmarks or just be happy with it lol

Or exchange/return for a new one??? But that's like hours of more work

So that score you posted earlier was with 1300 core clocks and 1400 mem? I scored 400 pts better with only 1150/ 1350 clocks. I would try some different clocks like 1200/1400. I have heard that if you go to far with the mem clocks it will hurt the score. If that doesn't help, I would look into RMA'ing it or take it back for another 1. I know it might be more work to exchange it, but you want to get what you paid for. thumb.gif

I tried basically every combo in increments of 25 and it's either it crashes/gives artifacts or they score low compared to others with similar clocks or even lower. At stock OC 1100 core and 1200 mem. I got ~6900 as the graphics score...

I saw the Asus direct CU V2 whatever 7870 drop to 20 dollars cheaper than this Gigabyte card. If I were to exchange it. Which one would you recommend? Do you think it is a software issue or hardware issue?
