Ok so it say's this is their "next gen" engine but seriously is it just me or does it not even look better than the original crysis that was released in 2007?

I mean heck it doesn't even look much better than any of the previous CoD trailers. I really want to know what is so "next gen" about this engine?

Obviously gameplay/story etc matter more than the graphics but this doesn't even look "next gen". Although there really won't be a chance that I'll be buying it unless they bring back custom mods/maps, dedicated servers, and allow the option for big maps and 60+ players like the original. Oh and that they take out/have the option to disable the streak crap where you kill half the enemy team in one click. If they did most of that then I guess I could care less about the graphics.

Edit: Oh and adding recoil back to the guns would be nice. Come to think about it the game has been dumbed down so much over the years I kind of just want them to just remake CoD:UO with the new engine. That would be epic and I would definitely pre-order it.

Pros: Facelift, potentially rid of hackers/faster response time with bans, perk system/engine that makes CoD so addictive

Cons: Horrible netcode, predictable/redundant storyline, lack of dedicated servers, only 18 players in one game.

Honestly, this game has been such a let down. The series had so much potential If Activision wasn't putting so much pressure on the studios to push a game out every two years, they might be able to focus on things like, I dunno, actually being able to play multiplayer without getting rubberbanded or one shot with an SMG. The netcode of this game is so horrible. It really makes me miss first person shooters of old, where the developers didn't blame connection. When you could play UT99 on a 56k modem without issue, or play against people in Russia on a 1 Mb connection. I have a 50 Mb connection and still lag like I'm playing against someone on the other side of the world, when they're maybe a state or two away.

tl;dr: Thanks for the graphics, now FIX YOUR FREAKING GAME mad.gif

If the dog is part of the gameplay, that'll be cool. Maybe like Elizabeth in Bioshock 3.

Yeah it doesn't really look all that better. I can still see they're using the same techniques for the water as they did in the previous games (flat textured water and bad animated splashes), as well as it just looking bad.

What's it matter if it doesn't have the best graphics of any game out there?! It's considered a next-gen engine because it's lightyears ahead of what they used to use (remember that Quake engine the reskinned and used for a decade?)

Next-gen doesn't necessarily mean it's insanely innovative or revolutionary, but instead that it improves greatly on it's predecessor(s).

Please explain to me how they are improving this new cod, because honestly it looks like a ps2 game so its not graphically. The gameplay will be watered down exactly like ever other CoD that caters to the "casual gamer" as in the players who just want to be spoonfed everything for $.

while a visual facelift has been overdue for a while the more important issue is the game play itself as well as multiplayer. if this doesnt have dedicated servers i will probably pass. i have had nothing but issues with being able to meet up with friends and play in one server that i enjoy. having to follow friends into a lobby has resulted in me usually just giving up because of some error not allowing me to join the lobby with other people.

im not going to pass on this game yet until more official details are released. but i would enjoy not being disappointed. right now im stuck between BF4 and COD:ghosts and both are generating a ton of doubt among gamers it feels like mellowsmiley.gif
