Galaxy MDT Quad Monitor Display - Geforce 210

Hey people,

Im running the Galaxy MDT 210 in my computer at my office and I am having some issues getting all the monitors to play together. I need to connect two monitors and a TV to this card.

I think I have found the issue and want to see what you guys think.

Basically, the graphics cards splits the single requiring 4 DVI connections in order for all the monitors to be recognized. Has to be a digital signal.

Will a DVI to HDMI cable mask any information? As in, will it act the same as a DVI to DVI connection? I have the two monitors hooked up with DVI to DVI and TV connected with a DVI to HDMI. All is well until I connect the HDMI connection. It basically recognizes the monitors for a few seconds, then switches back. It keeps doing this until I unplug the connection.

Let me know what you think,

Thanks!

(BTW there is no option to add another graphics card, its a DELL XPS 8500...)

HDMI to DVI should work just the same as a straight DVI connection in this instance. What sort of HDTV are you connecting, and what resolutions are all your displays running in? What happens when you remove the other two displays and connect the TV by itself?

DVI and HDMI are the same connection when it comes to video. There is no conversion, or loss of signal. HDMI is DVI + a few other things, not the least of which is audio. Hell, DVI even supports HDCP.

This card supposedly supports four displays, outputting two displays worth of data per dual link DVI port, which is split correctly into single link sources via the included adapters.

Or that is supposed to be how it works.

Using any DVI to hdmi cable should have no impact whatsoever on the data coming out of each of the four connections. In theory you ought to be able to use 4 DVI to HDMI cables with this setup.

When I added the two monitors it split the signal correctly and I basically had one giant resolution. When I added the third output (dvi to hdmi) to the tv, it recognized the output, but then Windows kept identifying the displays back and forth uncontrollably. One second it would show up, the next it would disappear. I downloaded all of the latest drivers, even tried older drivers. I switched every connection around and tried using different combinations.

I can run any of the two screen combinations, but as soon as I connect the third (tv or monitor), Windows starts bouncing back and force consistently, detecting the third and then not detecting the third display.

What model and resolution TV is it? What happens if you disconnect the other two displays and connect the TV by itself? By the way, do you have an onboard video output or another PC you can test the TV on?
