[TV] HTC In Disarray: Staff Departures, Disastrous First, And Production Problems Cloud Company's Future. - Page 3

HTC makes damn good phones. On the other hand, the Samsung phone I had was the crappiest piece of technology I owned.

HTC isn't listening to their customers period. I don't really care what the phone is called, we want removable batteries, higher capacity battery (you know for longer battery life), removable micro sd slot. We got none of that, instead HTC releases it in China so if you don't care about us well we don't care about you simply put. I used to love HTC had a thunderbolt, moved to a Note II, waiting on a Sony.

Samsung is evil because the give a removable backplate? I love my $-25 nexus but I wish I could have a bigger battery 2 days is fine but I want it to last a week even with the additional weight. HTC has the number one phone speaker though, that thing is amazing. As others have said if I do business with a company and it is everything I hoped I will do buisness with them again. I had a invincible samsung phone so I was planning to get the s3 however a sale won me over plus stock android is awesome! HTC might struggle for a bit but they just need to keep adding more to their package and their old customers will come back along with new ones. They have presented a phone as good as the competition but do not have the brand that old people remain loyal to.

This is the company that makes the best smartphones in the industry and constantly innovates.

They should be dominating. Not struggling.confused.gif

They pissed away their deal with Google to create Flagship devices (the Nexus One is still one of the best phones ever made), then their President came out stating that "all future devices will allow modification," which turned out to be complete crap when the HTC One X came out. They have tried time and time again to lock that thing down, after each successful Root came another OTA to block users from Rooting. It took almost a year to find an S-Off exploit for the device.

It's true, they make damn fine devices, but when you aren't advertising, you aren't building Google Flagships, you lie to the modding community, and you are pumping out more devices than you can actually support for more than a month, something has to give.

I own the HTC one, and really like it overall. Where Samsung shines is the availability, and the bare bones android. The One has all kinds of crap you cant get rid of, even when installing a launcher.

My 2cents.gif here.

Two years ago, I bought a HTC Sensation. Wonderful phone.
BUT
- The first batch that shipped here didn't really have a decent gorilla glass - I could literally scratch it with a grain of sand and my finger, without pressure.
However I sent it to the service and got the whole screen replaced.
- "Grip of death" - you use WiFi or landscape screen.
- Battery life - with only WiFi on for the purpose of WhatsApp, it lasted for about 14 hours. On a "Vanilla" install, I only had a Solitaire, Tetris and a SSH client installed.

Then, when the prev-gen phones came out, I went for the S3. My friend (who also had a Sensation) got the HTC One. The infamous first batch with the glue drop in the corner that became visible after some time. Then, after replacement, his screen unglued and rippled, also the annoying color distortion when you apply some force touching the screen. And Sense. Sense was good on the Sensation. But not anymore.

I never liked the TouchWiz, but, to be honest, I would prefer it over Sense right now. The new One doesn't look so bad, but the S4 has some ridiculously neat features (I can see a decent part of the consumers using them). And with the last season tipping the scales in favor of Samsung, I can see this coming. There were issues that pushed some of the HTC fan base away. I consider myself part of it. Loved HTC phones right up to 2012.

Agreed. I love my HTC One, but would have much preferred to have stock Android instead of Sense. There are even moments where I wish I had touchwiz(upgraded from a GS3) instead(much easier to monitor data usage, much more detailed battery usage stats & a file manager).

If not for the Speakers & the LCD screen (I hated not being able to use my phone in sunlight due to AMOLED screen), I probably wouldn't have bought the HTC One.

Apple's patent trolling dealt them the same mortal wound Intel's criminality dealt AMD. There's nothing for HTC to fall back on though to delay the inevitable.

this makes me sad... they make the best quality phones, there's no disputing this. I swear by HTC.
