[VC] First GeForce GTX 780 Review Leaks Out, Inno3D GTX 780 iChill Exposed - Page 48

Earlier, some of you nerds we're talking about selling GPUs in public places etc... biggrin.gif

So uhhh....how exactly do you sell something that the other person can't test?

If I meet a dude in a coffee shop and want to sell him my 580, how does the dude know it works???

I see prices remaining the same until after the upcoming 760 drops. There will be plenty of uniformed folks still buying whats available on the shelf at retailer stores rather than the latest and greatest. You probably wont see any price drops (if any) until July.

No official reviews, no official word on pricing, inevitable launch day price gouging, yet still willing to not go to bed as you need it right now?

I'd say your nuts, but this isn't exactly new for OCN. tongue.gif

What is the procedure though??

Meet up at coffee shop. He sets the money on the table, you take out the video card. What if he wants to see it, do you ask him to give you the money first? What if he runs out with the video card?? What if he wants your number so he can contact you if anything happens or it doesn't work.

Personally, I would just like to meet the person exchange stuff and be done with it. I'd never give them my number or tell them where I live.

What's a nerd like me to do so he doesn't get ripped off, stalked, or even worse?

ive sold 4 video cards already. ive sold shoes, ive bought a scotty cameron putter.. ive done a lot of transactions.

usually whoever is selling gives the product so i can check it out fully. i give money if i am satisfied, and i wait for them to count it to make sure its good. and it usually ends in goodbye and a handshake. the reverse happens if i am the one selling. its pretty standard. as a seller i know myself i wont scam people. but i guess i do understand the anxiety of maybe getting a faulty product. so thats why i never BUY used, i only sell smile.gif

the 4 video cards ive sold, they know my email and #. but i KNOW they arent broken when i sold them. so i know im not scamming them nor was i doing anything shady. so thats why im sure they are a happy customer and has never contacted me since.

I have a feeling that Nvidia will Dual gpu the 780's in future to to make 790 like 690 rolleyes.gif plans are similar to the 6 series...so try to understand nvidia...the 780's will be here for atleast a long time till they start to talk about 790 so the least you can wait is for amd to unveil its cards so you can compare the beasts according to your budgets...

As I indicated in the post you responded to, I guess I just assumed it would not be part of a series by more than just namesake. In other words, I assumed it would be differentiated from the 700 series by more than the name. As I have now stated in this thread three times, that is my own fault. I assumed too much.

And I did think the Titan wouldn't really be touched until Maxwell. I didn't think we'd see another 384-bit card. I didn't think we'd see an entire series released with the "premium" cooler. I thought Titan would be differentiated by more than just name, yes. And you are right, that is my own personal problem, and I take full responsibility for it.

If I were you, I would tell them to get lost. You spent the money, and you have the right to be upset.
