I want to see some final pricing and probably reviews of the 770, but I think I might bite the bullet on the price tag and go for this. The price is right for it's near Titan performance. Overclock should get it past Titan's real-world performance as well.

Yeah, OC-to-OC I'm guessing the 780 will be able to clock a bit better on average, leaving the stock-to-stock difference nearly intact. Just a hunch.

Only really relevant if I was making an Aussie wage in the US. Seeing as the cost of living here is MUCH higher. Just look at housing. Median house price in the city I live is $1.65m, and that's not for some glorious mansion overlooking some beautiful scenery. That's just for a standard 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house that in the US would be less than half the price.

So everything is relative. Give me Aussie money living in the US, yep I'd be making a killing. Give me Aussie wages in Australia, I'm making a pretty standard wage. The fact that housing prices here have increased over 150% since 1975 but wages have only increase about 100% is proof that the cost of living in this country is exorbitant. In fact in the US housing prices have actually dropped in 1975 iirc. So again, its all relative to where I am situated. Just because by US standard I make a pretty decent wage ($18.80 an hour) for an unskilled job (currently studying) doesn't mean by Aussie standards I do.

In saying that though, wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world. Backpacked all throughout Europe and I couldn't handle living in a tiny apartment, in a tiny country with 30 million other people. I love the space and quality of life I have here. I just wish the governments would do something and make more housing available so that prices come down so that I may actually have a chance of owning my own house one day. Which at this stage, is looking pretty unlikely.

But that said and done, computers are a hobby of mine, as are cars, and I will always put money aside to ensure that I can enjoy my hobbies. Which is what I will need to do if I plan on picking up a GTX780, they're never going to come cheap.

Aus is one of the most expensive places to live, but Aus citizens do tend to get more perks than US citizens. That said, yes everything is relative. Try living in So Cal, its tough unless you make around $20 an hour. Anyway, have you seen the cost of living for Amsterdam? It's higher than NY, NY. And no I don't smoke pot, my wife loves Amsterdam because of the atmoshere and scenery.

...not to mention that in that review, they pitted a 3GB 780 against a 6GB Titan

VRAM amount should be no issue with the tests they used, so that part isn't really related.
