What is the purpose of your PC ? and what resolution do you play if you do play games with examples of the games you play or games you will play in the future ?

Can I get more specific Details ?

No need to upgrade your CPU as you wont see much benefit, best performance increase you would see in gaming would be a GPU graphics so cross fire or waiting for the new line of GPU to release.

You can get another SSD
Ah I see for Gaming and Office work.
And what resolution and games do you play or plan on playing ? I'll explain why I'm asking these 2
and also What cooling options are you currently using ? Case ? CPU ? Fans ? Stock or OEM ?

Currently 2600K is more than enough IMO, enough to skip Haswell ? Yes
Unless you're into benchmarking *I'm personally not despite my current builds*

Haswell vs SB = by rumors should be about 20-25% faster etc etc Which is blah to me as you can OC that 2600K to be just as fast, SB is already good as IB once you get into OC (which is easy)
Cons of a Haswell will be DDR4, (Possibly better OC vs. IB), PCI-E 3.0 and Re-sell Value (Better and easier re-sell in the future as it's 2 generations ahead of SB) and everything else I believe is still too early to tell

In my opinion if you're on a budget it's not worth the leap,
I've owned both 2500k, 2600k, and 3770k (Being current on Mrs. PC)

What I'd do if I have 450-500 and wanted improved difference is.

1) A better CPU cooler then OC it , SB is great to OC 4.4ghz will be easy and more than enough for current cpu demanding games
2) Buy a mid size SSD (256GB/200GB range) this will make a big difference in performance if you want noticable performance.
3) Upgrade GPU to something like GTX 660 ti 3GB / 670 (soon hopefully a price jump as GTX 7XX series are due tomorrow) or a Radeon HD 7950 (and This is assuming you're on 1080p but want future proof for the next 2-3 years without problems)
4) Better PSU
5) Better Case (maybe) a 70-80 bucks case will be good enough for a small air cooled build.

These are just my opinions, Not to offend you but 450-500 is a decent amount of funds, but no new build will WOW you over what you already have.

Just realized you posted your build specifically sorry lol

By the looks I'd jump on a higher GPU
You have a great cooler, just OC 2600K to 4.4-4.5GHZ and you're good to go.

I'd change the following
-SSD = 256gb-512GB
-PSU = I recommend Seasonic but others Corsair

And you're set for the next few years honestly..
@1920x1080 You won't need anything like GTX 680 4GB
a gtx 660 sli for cool factor or a GTX 670 , I personally had problems with XFX Black Series 7970 Specially so I don't recommend Radeons this round

First about the SSD upgrade, Not necessarily an upgrade since you have a good one
But it's more for the space.. if you install your games onto the SSD they load fast.. I mean FAST , others may not see it being worth it but for me it's def worth it. I decided to go 1TB and beyond in SSD
because I want everything on SSD now.

As for the OC
You need to tweak it around manually, When I get home I'll take a look into the Bios Menu for your specific Motherboard AsRock makes some solid Mobo's I dont care what others say,
I've owned x5 AsRock Motherboards and I've been able to OC them and keep them live without RMA for the time I've used them.
Asus ? I've RMA'd atleast once on every Mobo, always their high end Deluxe or Sabertooth or ROG versions.

I'll help guide through OCing that 2600K we should be able to get it stable 4.4ghz PM me to remind me lol.
Once I see their layout I'll be able to tell you how to set each setting, it's mostly PLL , LLC , Vcore which is easy on these new chips, Don't use OEM's OC presets, They over voltage everything, trying to be more universal

as for GTX 460 it was a bit wacky, I owned the GTX 480 and I hated it, I moved to Radeon right away. but these new GTX 6XX series are wonderful
my Mrs. PC had a XFX Black Edition 7970 and after RMAing it twice I sold it and replaced it with a GTX

and yes your case is fine,
