Nvidia 450 wont let PC boot

Thread Starter
I was using my pc today and out of the blue it shut off. It wouldnt turn back on, so I removed everything and slowly reconnected components one by one. The computer stopped booting as soon as I plugged the graphics card in. I tried the card in 2 other PCs and same result.

GC is a Galaxy GTS450 .

I have a feeling something shorted on the GC and therefore the PSU wont let the computer boot? The graphics card has worked flawlessly for the last 2 years, and its cooled by a arctic cooling L2 so never went over 65C.....Is the graphics card "saveable" or do I need to start looking for a new one?

Thanks,
-NJ

Dealing with the same problem but with GTX 480 since last update.

Had done regedit clean, C: clean and everything as possible to reinstall drivers with no luck to boot. (Does boot with no drivers)
Changed the thermal paste and I though I fix it, boot normally but as soon as I open a game or 3Dmark11 got blue screen so it didn't.

btw I had read tons of people complaining on this lately.

lol I came across your posts after googling the problem earlier today....sounds like you can still boot your pc with the GC installed though? For me when the GC is installed, the pc will literately not do ANYTHING....no fans..no lights...nothing. As soon as I remove it and start the pc, bam! It works fine....

Ugh...computers....lol

My first though was the PSU but you say you tested on two different rigs right? with same results.
Then it's more likely to be the GPU has died, try to open it and see for visual melting or anything similar, or just go RMA. luckily you still under warranty and you can get it repair at factory.
