And if I can get the money from my 580s and heat killers and bridge to do so then why not. Just need to figure what I should ask for them.

the way the prices of 780's is looking, 2 of them will cost a fair bit more than a sigle titan. thats just for card/s. 580's with stock coolers fetch around $190 - $230 at least here on OCN with 3GB lightnings towards the higher end. not sure what your 580's will fetch with the water blocks and bridge. eBay or CL they would fetch even more.

I would get two 780's. Two will be $1,400 bucks or so. That's a big savings for around a 10% difference in performance. The power of the 780 will be incredible.

My myself I wouldn't even think about the 6 series, I had three 670's & two 780's would crush them, plus you're getting 3GB on a 384 bit bus. The ability to OC the 780 will be great as well.

With your budget & your mind set on ultimate performance, the 780 would be a great choice. Good luck with whatever you choose! thumb.gif

SO now that the 780s are out, the question becomes, which is still better? SLI 780x2 or a single Titan? If I step up to the 780 I might have to go with just one for now then in a couple months get a second because the cost of 2 might be to much even with selling my 580's, I will want to sell them together all at once, but might not be able to make up the difference between the cards to get to 780 if they are better then a Titan.

SLI 78's... I'm thinking of building a new rig since they're $650

780s all the way. There´s no reason whatsoever to get a TITAN right now, unless you game in 8K surround systems. For the price of 2 TITANs you can get 3 780s. And one TITAN is overkill @ 1080p, and not enough @ 1440/1600p.

SLI 780s should be enough for 1440/1600p, and one is more than enough for 1080p.

GTX 780 is the new GTX 670. And GTX TITAN is the worst FPS/dollar card in the history of gaming GPUs.

Ok next question how much of a performance lost will I get by going to a 780 from a Sli 580x2 on a Expci 3.0 MB? until I can afford to get the second 780?

Edit: I am playing on a 1920*1200.

I plan on getting a single 780 for my 1440p games which will be slower (not by much) than my 580's but still very much playable until i get a second 780.
eg.
