Two quick questions - Page 2

Seems like I need to rename this thread >.>

So I'm doing the PCI-E cable (photo above) and it has two extra pins which are ground, from my understanding I'll be using two 6 pins for my GPU and won't need these other two ground pins so they will just hang, wondering if i can just not plug them in and keep them in a box or something?

Also just to further clarify the above statement WiSK wrote "Not at all dangerous, it's fine to swap same-coloured pins with each other" dose this go for all the cables I'm doing, as long as they are the same color, like with my 24 and the PCI-E I'm doing now?

I've done this in both my Striders (the SFX ones, but essentially the same pinout). However, some Striders have a double wire which does need to be exactly as the stock. Pin 13 to pin 13+20 if I recall correctly.

A good idea is to invest in a cheap PSU tester then you can be 100% sure you've wired it right before risking your components.

I did find that double wire earlier this morning, thanks for the confirmation. I think I will invest in a PSU tester because I'd hate to do all that work and blow something up >.>
