You are incorrect. You did not need the wifi adaptor to play online. You only needed it for a wireless connection. An Ethernet cable was included in the box.

Edit: I didn't really mean it was required, more so that every single person I played with for years all had the wifi adapter because wireless internet is much easier and Microsoft was mental for charging 100$ for a wifi adapter...

Back in 2006 I purchased the 20GB PS3 that also didn't come with wifi. I ended up buying a linksys game adapter that was almost $80 over at Best Buy where I had purchased the PS3. After taxes I ended up paying almost $800 for the console, adapter and an extra controller.

After a few months of use I ended up ditching the adapter because it could not hold a connection for more than 1 hour. I still have the adapter to this date.

The games may be optimized well because every Xbox One or Ps4 will have the same Hardware config. But do remember the XOne is using the Windows Kernel and Dx11.11 API.

Also the idea of switching between TV and a Game is hardly innovative. I have my Gaming PC in front of me and my 40" Samsung above it for TV...why try to solve a problem that doesn't exist? Others may have and most likely will have their Sky+HD boxes and Xbox's in the same room too soo..

"can almost match the resolution that your PC could play DOOM 1 at"

Is generally what that has meant in the past. I don't see much reason to think differently now.

The people these consoles are marketed at have no clue what they're using, or why one system might really be better than another, or less capable than a computer.
