I know you were not talking to me, but I came from a GTX580. 100% performance increase in some games! I don't think of myself having the Titan as being number one. But I do feel like number two (pun intended) knowing all the custom versions of the 780 there will be. I love the stock cooler and think it is great, but a classified or lightning 780 is going to be better than the Titan in every way. I would take a classified 780 @ $800 all day long over this $1k Titan.

Hey Itulod, I got a new cpu cooler. 4663 @71C Prime 95 stable for 1:30. Still testing. thumb.gif

Its still 2304 Cores vs 2688. Titan will always be faster. Not all card OC the same. Also from what i have seen all these custom card dont really OC much better because they are all limited by the Core which is identical to reference. In HD 7970 side Reference still best to get.

Maybe so, but I just have this sneaky suspicion that 780 are going to be better overclockers overall. Only way they wouldn't be is if Nvidia purposely gimped them to less voltage, but that does not appear to be the case.

It should be evident that they will overclock better then the Titan, but the core differential cannot be fully overcome. The Titan will remain the fastest when overclocked!

GTX Titan or GTX 780, they have the same chips.

Nvidia probably binned the "less" performant Tesla chips in order to put them in their next line-up and probably kept the very best chips for the GTX Titan (GK110-400) . And the rest of the less average GK110 chips are now sold as GTX 780 (GK110-300).

Pretty sure too that some Titan chips will be used as Classified or Lightnings 780.

The same thing that happens to all hardware releases.

3770k - 3570k

The binning process at manufacturers is very fast and automated and a lot of very good chips get pushed down. This is good for us! thumb.gif

so true. so far, i've seen a number of titan's owner selling their titan's for 780's. someone still defending their purchase though.

780s are an awesome GPU but if you're coming from 680/HD7970, not worth it.

Same can be said about titan. If gtx 780 isn't an upgrade, same for titan. Both are in the same ball park. One is $300 cheaper.
