I think that, you'll see an AMD refresh come later this year much like the current 7-series "refresh" (referring to Gen2)...

Is it worth waiting for? That's up to you but, I'd expect performance to be within range of the rumors out there already.

On another note...Mr. Regent Square, I'd like you to back up your claims that there will be no enhancements coming post-launch...Particularly because Nvidia's history proves you incorrect...In fact, practically every refresh in Nvidia history, proves you incorrect so, what other then your opinion, is this discussion actually being fueled by?

To be short:

8000x non OEM or whatever they are called Q4(October hard launch)

The info of 8970 seems about right, should be on par 780 at a bit lower price.

Frame time issue fix comes at summer, if drivers prove it then you can wait for 8000x series.

My personal bet: 8000 OEM and non OEM versions this year.

You can bite if this is wrong but I am confident! thumb.gif
I like your persistence thumb.gif

I don't know enough about the 9K series to discredit what you say with confidence but what i do know is that the latency fixes are coming this summer but that has nothing do with the 8K series as the issue resides with current CFX 7K GPUs and that 8K OEM are already out. I also know that 8970 info was "leaked" sometime last year as well so it's validity is even more questionable. I think AMD will call their next cards the HD9000 series to avoid confusion with the OEM rebrands.

All I want is Nvidia to squeeze the most of 780 with drivers. That is it. We will see how it all goes this Thursday, when 770 launches,
