AMD cards always have lower resale value vs nVidia counterparts, you should always factor that in. Unless you're Alatar rolleyes.gif

$31.77, I misremembered but basically the same thing... picture from my ebay history:

ebay3game.png

Here's someone selling game keys with a $35 total for the same games on the forums: http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1760497

EDIT: As jomama mentions above me, there are ones for less of course too, a $22 listing here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Never-Settle-Promo-Bundle-Bioshock-Infinite-and-Crysis-3-/321134413660 which will automatically give you FC3 Blood Dragon just as all of the bundles were retroactively.

Except that's not true, and I have yet to see tests indicating a 13% IPC difference. The Titan typically hits about 1150, give or take 10mhz, stable at best other than "makes it through a bench if I try" speeds with hairdryer fan levels. The 780, at least from the results so far, pretty consistently hits at least 1210mhz. Saying "but an equally clocked titan wins" is irrelevant since these cards appear to (as I keep reminding you, it's too early to call) clock higher in general. Stop misquoting me: I have not said it *is* faster, I have said that it is about 5% slower and therefore effectively nil in usage differences. I have never said the 780 is faster outright. So, stop arguing as though I have.

EDITed to fix some butchering of sentences during a prior edit.

And what we're saying is that you are wrong. Its not just 5%, its closer to 10% when you compare it to a Titan that is PROPERLY overclocked. That is NOT negligible, it is quantifiable and fact. 10% performance difference (or even your claimed 5%) could be enough to average 60FPS or not so it is NOT negligible. It may not be worth $350 extra but it is a definitive performance difference...

although I agree with GT's original points, which have been distorted, misunderstood and lost in the mess at this point, I did pay more than $20 for those games. $35 to exact. biggrin.gif

I apologize if it wasn't meant rudely, but I took them it context with your remarks towards me "I know the type of person you are, always has to be right" that were definitely not meant sarcastically or jokingly wink.gif.

I don't think many people can tell 57fps apart from 60, but if they think they can, more power to them. I never said there was no performance difference, just that it's so small as to be negligible particularly with the huge pricing gulf.

According to the TPU review the Titan is 9% faster than the 780 and the 780 boosts around 3.5% higher. And that's a conservative review when it comes to the difference, as I said I calculated the difference in the anandtech review and it was more along the lines of 13% difference at stock.

1600p numbers of course. This is why the "low single digit" difference stuff you keep throwing around makes no sense. It's not based in reality.

And about that 780 matching Titan, maybe I was talking about these?

^ has nothing to do with reality, benches are giving around a 10% difference and obviously the 780 doesn't match titans OC'd.

Is "the best" two Titans that provide a margin-of-error change for $2000, but look better in a signature? Or is "the best" simply in a vacuum where cost doesn't matter, and thus whatever has even a half a percent difference is "the best", and the real world doesn't exist?

OC to OC is silly for a number of reasons including that cards don't ever OC the same, OC's vary by a user's environment and system, OC's vary to the individual unit even, and if you wanted to compare it anyway, we don't know how the 780 will go with a modded BIOS yet anyway.
^a minimum of 5% is now margin of error?

I'm refusing my package of a reference 780 and going for one of these things, after seeing that.... the cooler is apparently crazily good and keeps it at high boost levels consistently instead of the downclocking the normal 780 and Titan end up having due to temps. Stock-to-stock it outperforms the titan handily. No gaming for me this weekend on a 780 but it'll be well worth it once it comes thumb.gif.

^again no explanation needed.

And that's the first two pages of your post history in this thread. No post was shortened or anything, some parts I bolded for longer posts.

After all this time we've yet to see a review where the 780 comes within 5% on average (which is what the other half of your posts said) of the Titan assuming both cards are reference. Or a benchmark of properly OC'd cards where the difference wouldn't be much closer to 10% than 5%. And the benches we've seen on OCN are 1080p. Fastest Titan vs. fastest 780 on valley, over 10%, 2nd fastest Titan vs. fastest 780, nearly 9%

Please do not say I've misquoted you since I obviously haven't.

And more importantly: Please show us these 5% numbers and where you're pulling them from.

I hadn't even thought about the fact that GT constantly goes on and on about what a great performance value the 780 is over the TItan but somehow the $250 cheaper 7970 is not worthy of mention! Just another example of GT's "whatever I personally like is the best" attitude towards video cards. I think Anand and Tom's etc should stop bothering with GPU reviews and just ask GT which card is the best from now on! thumb.gif
