Not my cup of tea unfortunately. Don't really use apps that need DP.

A bit off topic, but do the 780s include metro LL codes or not, didn't see anything about it when I bought from Amazon.

It will perform absolutely beautifully in SLI or above. Even with Titan, Surround performance is not enough with a single card for someone who prefers what I would consider higher frames (80+). The 3GB buffer will not be a problem in the next 12 months for users who like high FPS. Even with 780/Titan, you still don't have enough power to turn up the VRAM eating settings and maintain FPS around 80-100 or more, so because of that you will not be using over 3 GB. If you are someone who likes big AA in favor of FPS (i.e. you are ok with 30-50 FPS), then you may be turning the settings up enough to surpass that 3GB buffer if you're running 3 or 4 cards. In that case Titan may be for you.

This is all speaking from experience on 5760x1080 with 2GB 670's, 4GB 680's, and now 6GB Titans. I thought once I got Titans I would turn the MSAA up and use beyond 3GB of VRAM, but I find even with these cards I prefer the FPS over the VRAM eating settings so I see about 2500 MB max usage in Crysis 3, Far Cry 3, and BF3. If you are thinking 7680x1600 then I can't speak to that.
It will be exactly the same. Just up the temp target and power target, then push the sliders as far as you can. Oh, and as others have pointed out, you might as well flash the bios before you even begin unless they have magically fixed the throttling issue. My Titans are completely different cards with a flashed bios. I have no problem gaming at 1176 steady in SLI where before they would throttle as low as 1050.
I doubt it. Now that these are out there isn't going to be anyone willing to buy a Titan for enough money for it to make sense for Titan owners to go through the trouble of selling off and buying new cards that in the end will be slower. Would it have been nice to wait and spend less on 3 780's rather than 2 Titans? Absolutely, but what's done is done. Live and learn I guess.
It is not the same. 3960X and 3930K are released in conjunction so users know at the time that they are blowing an extra $400 literally just for the sake of blowing $400 extra. You can clearly read reviews comparing them and see that the performance is virtually identical. If Intel had released the 3960X as the only available 6-core along side the 3820 and convinced consumers that it really was a CPU in a class of it's own (and going to stay in a class of its own) and worthy of $1000 only to drop the 3930K at $600 3 months later there would be a whole lot of people up in arms. We've not seen a case like this in tech hardware, ever. It's hilarious to me when people act like this is to be expected and just the normal early adopters/flagship tax. No, it's not. No hardware company has ever released a standalone product and marketed it as a piece of hardware worthy of it's own name, disassociation from previous products, and price tag that was exorbitant compared to anything seen before, only to drop something 5-8% slower 3 months down the road at a way, way lower price.

That said, what's done is done. I'm over it, but won't forget it.

A couple of random thoughts about the 780 ... I will be interested to see the experiences users have when they get them in their hands. I'm curious to see if they'll be able to overall clock higher than Titan, which I expect they will. I view it as no different than 670 to 680. 680 had more clusters, but the 670 could often clock higher due to less engines bringing the performance very very close, especially on models like the 670 FTW. I also expect there to be more headroom due to powering less shaders but having the same TDP. Although if it's anything like Titan in terms of throttling, anyone really looking to OC is going to flash the bios and bypass that TDP anyways.

I also find it very interesting that, unless I missed something, EVGA is only offering the Classified with it's ACX cooler. I'm sure the new cooler is nice, but I just saw a lot of 3 and 4-way 680 Classified setups and it's not surprising that many guys going for 3 and 4-way SLI would do so with the Classified cards. With the ACX, I would think it would make 3 and 4-way very difficult due to a lack of airflow in a sandwiched configuration. I just thought it was odd that they would do that.

To those who didn't jump on the Titan bandwagon (the non-idiots unlike myself), congratulations. Titan-like performance at $650 is amazing, and those of you running surround setups will really appreciate the bump in the memory subsystem. The smoothness that Titan offered over the 600 series was really just mind blowing to me, and I attribute a lot of that to higher memory bandwidth which I think was responsible for a lot of the stuttering or poor frame time variance that was sometimes seen in SLI. The 780 will be no different and should produce an incredible gaming experience.

Reading the Anandtech review, I thought the 7970 looked really good. Considering it's age, it holds up really well. And with a custom cooler (as is in the review) it's cooler, quieter and uses less power too. Personally, even on a single 1440p I'm happy with it's performance. We need newer games or something.
I'd rather try a new console at this time, really.
I think AMD will answer with a 20nm card by the end of the year...
