Yeah just like I was wrong, when I said GTX 780 will be close to Titan. So you Honestly think a 8970 will not beat a Titan?

What is the point of releasing a 8970 then?

You all seem to think Titan came from the heavens lachen.gif

Did you take your new driver for the 780?

AMD cards are more powerful but less optimized.

No I did not cause it is not out yet.

8970 will be on par as AMD drivers tend to suck.

Most people in that thread are saying they are on par. No one has said based on what we know it is going to be better than a Titan. Sure it could be better if someone could get their hands on one and actually tested but I don't see how I am implying the 8970 was worse.

If the 8970 was on par (and cheaper too), then AMD could get a winner on their hands, but if that is the case then Maxwell is the only thing that can beat its last generation brothers.

Stop implying that I am saying Titan is going to be god for the next few years, cause that is pretty stupid for anyone to think about that. In fact your whole 780 *bleep* is that what you are telling me now about your stance with the 780 isn't what you said to us before, nor have I ever said to people to get the Titan because so... Holy *bleep*

The reason I would never get a desktop AMD card is for two reasons that I think still stands:

1. Drivers still suck (and if the drivers are decent in occasions, they don't support their cards as long as nVidia does [remember HD 4000 series?]).
2. I hate the OEM's that sell AMD cards (with the exception of MSI and AMD themselves really).

That part about 780 close to Titan was not aimed at you.

It was a few months ago when Altar and others were at my neck for saying, and insisted Nvidia would never do that to their top card.

A 7870 >= 6970 and a 6870 > 5870. So with that said I fully expect a 9870 to beat an 8970, therefore beating a Titan.

Based on news I have seen, 8970 will be coming this year.

Um...no, the 5870 is superior to the 6870

Sorry, I had both and know what I am talking about.

At first the 5870 was like 2% ahead, then after a driver release the 6870 took the lead.

That is another reason I have difficulty looking at AMD cards when I go to upgrade. The OEM's suck for the most part. The last two Sapphire cards I got were crap and the last PowerColor I got felt cheap. Asus is all I look at now when considering an AMD card.

GTX 780. Buy a card and be happy, no need to wait for AMD refresh, they will be a bit slower or on par.

Asus sucks. They force you to use GPU tweak to overclock. Get a ref card with accelero if you dont want waterblock.
