Well, it’s pretty clear – at 1080p, the GTX 780 is top of the heap. Only the TITAN comes out ahead – and even then the stock TITAN often loses to the overclocked GTX 780. I’m very glad they didn’t cut it down more than they did, because that’s great news for consumers who want a more affordable option.

Good news for us at 1080p smile.gif

Not so good news is the UK price. £549 minimum...over $830 for people in the UK how the hell is that fair when its less than $650 in US?

Yea the price sucks. I wanna see how the 770 stacks up compared to the 7970. I think in June you will be able to find 7970s for $280 or less and when you can get better performance than this 7990 with 2 7970s and AMD patch up their CFX issue. How can you complain.

AMD has proven they can fix these frametime issues (right now a 7970 is better than a GTX680 in single card frametimes) and when they fix CFX performance in next month driver 2 HD7970s will be insanely good value. Even with the lowly clocked HD7990 you are already with in 15-20% performance of GTX780 sli for 45% less money. Hell Sli 780 even loses in Hitman by 20% and only wins Battlefield 3 by 4% (BF4 will likely use a tweaked version of this engine and be just as optimized for Radeon cards) with the same amount of memory and the same memory bus width.

If you're set on the 780, more power to you and i hope you enjoy your cards but i think CFX 7970 especially if you already own 1 (or even better both) is going to be a great alternative solution until the HD8000/HD9000 launch.

Sigh. Any time a cheaper card comes out all you hear about is how "OC'd such and such card now beats the higher priced card at stock ZOMG!!!" as though they've totally forgotten that the higher priced card can OC too. doh.gif Can't wait for the coming benching competitions! biggrin.gif

I can see how people would be put off by the fact the 680 was $499 at launch and the 780 is $649.

it only loses in hitman because they said they driver was bugged and was capping the framerate @65, otherwise it more than likely would have gotten smoked
