When the difference is $350 it's significant lol. you won't see a GTX650ti boost OC past a stock GTX680 that costs $350 more.

Well i guess, the game has been out for quite awhile and this card shares the same drivers as the 680/Titan which have been out for months now. So it probably won't be getting fixed, or isn't really a priority. Anyways, i doubt it would be getting smoked. 7970s scale better than GTX780s and a single 780 is only 12.5% ahead of a single HD7970, if anything the difference would be in the single digits if comparing fixed SLi to CFX

I think this is common thinking because if you look at people who buy Falcon Northwest, Alienware, or Origin PC's they are afraid to Overclocking thinking their machine will explode.

Won't be for long I expect a price drop just like we've seen before with high launch prices @GTX280

I'm thinking a Titan price drop will be prudent when you look at paying $350 for an extra 3GB VRAM and 10% more performance seems unbalanced now that the 780 has been priced at $650.

Sure there will be some premium for a flagship. A price drop would boost sales once Titan sales go stagnant..

As for the 780's release today......

Reviews look good and right where a refresh should be, perhaps a bit pricey, but performance is where it's expected. If your sporting 580/6970 or lower series cards nice time to upgrade. 680/7970 cards can stay put or double up for less.

Personally I was able to resist on Newegg this morning from my iPhone when I woke up. Not even rolling out of bed I checked at 7:am. (That's how my GTX 690 was purchased). Since my second rig is not in dire need with a 680 I'm going to hang on a bit. Come on AMD.....let's see some response.

It dawned on me as I was checking them out this morning, "Wouldn't it be nice if they came out with a GTX 790 3GB GPU for $1300? If it came within 10% performance of two Titan SLI, I'd jump on that like a tick on a hound dog and kick myself for not waiting. tongue.gif

I put this offer on EVGA, I will sell my Titans for $650, as long as the price of 780 comes down to $550 or below . I truly hope it happens...hanging on to my dream thumb.gif

Well it would be nice! But i doubt they could do it. The reason the GTX690 was such a great card is because the managed to get the power consumption of GK104 down quite significantly and this allowed them to stuff two of those cores without gimping them onto a single PCB (but i'm certain you already knew this tongue.gif i'm posting this for newbies)

This GTX780 consumes about the same amount of power as the HD7970 and you've seen from past 7990s how difficult it was to balance performance/heat/ and noise. Unless Nvidia manage to pull a miracle and create a card like AMDs Official HD7990 which also runs ungimped 7970 cores without excessive heat and noise you might be looking at another GTX590 blunder.

still though, it would be nice wink.gif

Would love to see 2 highly OC'd 7970's vs 2 highly OC'd 780's.
