It's the fastest card out there and I've had it for three months. It also has 3GB of extra vram. Even if the 780 matched the Titan I'd be glad with my purchase since I don't have a problem with paying a premium for getting something early.
But the thing is that the 780 doesn't match the Titan. The titan is around 10% faster. And the OCing potential of both cards is about the same since they're limited by voltage anyways. So the difference will stay the same.
I'm not saying it's a good deal. But this stuff about the 780 matching the card is a bunch of nonsense. We always go through this when new hardware comes out. "but it can OC to match card X!", well card X OCs as well... Yesterday I said over and over again that I'm only glad to see GK110 at lower price points, the opinion is still the same but it's a bit hard to convey when people are getting overly excited. We can't say anything about OCs yet really, reviews don't tell you much about GK110 OCs, anyone who has delved into Titan OCing more than superficially knows this. Results without custom BIOSes are useless as without them the cards will be power limited.
In the end I just don't get all this stuff people have to say about the Titan. In the end if you bought it and are now regretting it then you weren't really the target audience in the first place. If you're regretting having the faster card then you were looking for some sort of good value for money. That's exactly what the Titan wasn't about, and still isn't.
