Any official word for when the 770 comes out?

Also I've read through most of the thread today with great interest and I've seen it thrown around quite a bit about flashing the bios of the 780. Can someone please explain why you should do this to a brand new card, what purpose does it serve and is it anyway a risk, could you gimp your new card in anyway?

Thanks!

I guess it's time to post this old roadmap again:

Based on that, Kepler is 3x Fermi. Going by real numbers Maxwell will be 2xKepler (GK104) at best.

That's what i am going with, i will be doing 3-way 1200p, , i hope 2 Titans can push it,...

Why do you lose 3 GB of usable vRam when SLI-ing Titans?

Is this the case with all 3+ GB SLI cards???

IF he SLI a GTX 780 (3GB) with a GTX Titan (6GB) , the cards will only use 3GB Vram total. (If its possible, which I doubt)

But if you SLI 2 x GTX Titans (6GB), or course you will have 6GB usable Vram.

I never really understood why people compare with stuff that's non existent and completely irrelevant.

With that type of mentality you may as well wait another seven years and get the GTX 1480. It will be the best video card of the century. It will be way faster than the Maxwell!

Ohh whoops, I thought it was two Titans, not a 780 and a Titan.

Gotcha biggrin.gif

Let's get this all out of the way shall we?

1. The GTX 780 is a killer new card from Nvidia and the obvious choice for most high end consumers.
2. The GTX Titan is a faster video card but its cost is now prohibitive in light of the GTX 780's release.
3. I would buy two GTX 780's over two Titans if I were buying cards today.
4. I am keeping my Titans as the cost and hassle to replace them with slower cards would not benefit me.
5. I understand exactly why Nvidia have priced and released the cards the way they did and am not mad about it, but would have done things differently in retrospect.
6. I am not jealous of GTX 780 owners who have gotten the bulk of the performance of my Titans at a much lower cost. Congrats on a great card!
7. My SLI Titans deliver absolutely mental performance in every game I play and I have never been more satisfied with a video card purchase.
8. I'm sure number 8 would be true if I had purchased GTX 780's as well.
9. I do not foresee ever needing the 6GB of VRAM my cards have but its nice not to have to worry about such limitations.
10. I wish AMD had released a 7970 refresh before Titan launched so there would've been more pressure on Nvidia to make Titan the GTX 780 in the first place.

I agree with the bold.

I will also say that it somewhat bugs me that they extended the same design and everything from the Titan to the 780. There isn't a physical difference now that differentiates the 'halo' products (TITAN,690) versus their standard GTX line. But maybe that's because I have a window on my case so I care about appearance more than others wink.gif

Sorry for the delay everyone, but I'll be making a post on the Unigine thread in a bit. For now, heres a preview! biggrin.gif

EDIT: I'll fix the pic in sec. Goddamn MS paint!

EDIT 2: Nevermind, the screen shot was like that. I'll crop it in a bit.
