The Windforce OC version vs Stock Titan is faster. Max OC vs Max OC, the 780 will never be faster. It's a rather interesting situation I guess, because if Titan had bad Price / Performance before, it looks worse with a 780 and the performance it delivers for $650.

A 7990 is only 5% faster than a 780 OC, that's pretty incredible.

Sorry for the spam guys, but heres a better screenshot:

My GTX 780 is currently running on stock settings and my i7 3770k is overclocked to 4.6GHz. I'm going to try to mess around with overclocking the gpu when I get the chance to.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
1. The GTX 780 is a killer new card from Nvidia and the obvious choice for most high end consumers.
2. The GTX Titan is a faster video card but its cost is now prohibitive in light of the GTX 780's release.
3. I would buy two GTX 780's over two Titans if I were buying cards today.
4. I am keeping my Titans as the cost and hassle to replace them with slower cards would not benefit me.
5. I understand exactly why Nvidia have priced and released the cards the way they did and am not mad about it, but would have done things differently in retrospect.
6. I am not jealous of GTX 780 owners who have gotten the bulk of the performance of my Titans at a much lower cost. Congrats on a great card!
7. My SLI Titans deliver absolutely mental performance in every game I play and I have never been more satisfied with a video card purchase.
8. I'm sure number 8 would be true if I had purchased GTX 780's as well.
9. I do not foresee ever needing the 6GB of VRAM my cards have but its nice not to have to worry about such limitations.
10. I wish AMD had released a 7970 refresh before Titan launched so there would've been more pressure on Nvidia to make Titan the GTX 780 in the first place.

Great post Eric!thumb.gif

Please do, and compare the OC'd results with that stock screenshot! Looking forward to some OC results from OCN'ers.

According to the benchmark, the GPU was at 1200MHz and the memory was at 3004MHz. I'll try to overclock it when I get off of work tomorrow.

The benchmark reads the core clocks wrong (unless they fixed it recently).  Use Afterburner or Precision to monitor the clock speeds.

It was just on stock clocks so I guess I'll just ignore the benchmarks then.

GTX 690 started it all. Titan pushed the cooler to the end rather middle. I agree with finally a casing worth the money we are paying on these high end GPU's. Looks beautiful too. smile.gif

On a side note - I'm contemplating two 780's but waiting on results, member numbers. Good times. Will be watching this thread.
