You nailed it. There are not enough performance demanding games to warrant spending so much on a card. There is Crysis 3 and the new Metro. 2 games. If you already have a SLI setup you may as well keep it, mine does just fine, I am in no mood to try and compete for who gets more fps on a level that won't even effect me.
The price is to high, and I'm sure AMD will release something that makes Nvidia crap their pants and have to drop the prices. I myself won't upgrade til at least the 8xx series.

I would love to see a DCII version of the 770/780 biggrin.gif
post #964 of 2543
Price wise compared to the Titan, not a bad deal, but these new cards are now jumping up in price at an alarming scale.

Approx -

580 = £360 on launch

680 = £ 420

780 = £600

Nvida - you can go and ............................ mad.gif

Oh and what about the recession ?

I don't get why people are complaining about people who are complaining about prices. It doesn't matter what the price was in the past, $650 is a lot for a graphics card. Obviously Nvidia knows that this will still sell really well so they mark it up, supply and demand.

Most people who buy $650 graphics cards are not rich and just overspending, and these same people buy the newest card every generation which will keep the prices high.

I think I'm going to upgrade to a $300 7970 now, which should run 2560x1440 perfectly fine at less than half the cost.
